New Live Action Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Movie In The Works?

The turtles in the old live action had different coloring i believe.

They did. I don't remember the others anymore, but Don had kinda olive green skin and Raph was a really strong green.

They've always had different skin coloring, except for the 80's toon, but I'm moderately sure thats' because it was more cost effective to have turtle templates.

I was thinking maybe Scott Speedman as Casey. The guy who was in the two Underworld Movies as Michael Corvin.

I think he could do a good job.

Yeah, I can see Speedman as Casey. Remember the first wave a ninja turtle action figures from Playmates back in the 80's ? All the turtles had different skin tones. Leo was Olive, Mike a solid green, Raph was lite green, and Don was Brown.

I would be down with speedman as casey. I agree it would be neat for them to be all different shades of green.

speedman would be cool as casey, but i just dont' see him embracing a character to its full potential, especially one that talks to turtles. prove me wrong tho. he can play one hell of a badass tho.

would we even want casey and april both introduced into a new ninja turtles movie with the foot and shredder, splinter and the turtles again, JUST like the original did? maybe give some breathing room and have april be our eyes into this 'unseen world' of the first film and then we can see casey and april meet and do whatever in the 2nd film (i'm assuming there would be one). unless they are going to take the idea of hun being shredders right hand man and they take the idea from the sk3 series of casey wanting revenge, then i guess that'd work fine.

i want to see these films grow as much as possible, in a mature way that rivals the original stories and their dark tone, but not be afraid to take the steps to bringing in other creatures subtely. i'd love to see there be a friend of the turtles for possibly 4 films that have a new character introduced in each one based off of the story...


casey and raph have their buddy friendship which could revolve around a shredder story and having hun involved like i already mentioned. this one seems to be the one in development currently, altho i wonder if they will be using karai or the elite ninja at all.

i'd love to see leatherhead brought in to be a friend to michaelangelo. maybe through scientific research of both dr. stockman and agent bishop that way these movies are still grounded in reality but start showing some of the more out-there ideas interms of mutations and mousers.

fugitoid would be a good scientific mind for donatello to work with if they were to possibly bring in the triceraton storyline (the only one i'm familiar with is how they were percieved in the sk3 series) which i'd suggest to be the 3rd storyline with an invasion on earth being the climax. i'd assume the whole zanramon/mozar-general blanque idea would be used here.

and usagi obviously would be a match for leo (both body and mind) which could maybe be in the same story as the triceraton movie or maybe theyd utilize the whole big brawl tale for maybe a 4th film. this one could take place entriely off of earth and have the ultimate ninja and draco being the villains (the ultimate ninja could possibly expect shredder to still be alive and come looking for him and then the turtles end up following splinter just like the sk3 series)

what would you think of these ideas being the timeline for 3-4 movies?

I think the figures did, but I don't think the original cartoon turtles had different coloring...it's been a while though, I could be wrong.

This is what I'd like to see in a 4 Part TMNT Movie reboot ;

-Movie 1 : Origin of the turtles, and the Foot. Turtles fight the Purple Dragon Gang led by Hun ( with a human Bebop and Rocksteady as members as a nod to the 80's toon).Find out that the Dragons are just Pawns for the Foot. Turtles battle and defeat Shredder and the Foot.

- Movie 2 : Turtles vs. Baxter Stockman and Mousers. Meet and befriend April. Learn that Baxter was funded by T.C.R.I and the Utroms, particulary and evil one named Krang ( once again, a nod to the 80's toon). Defeat Baxter. Splinter gets injured by Mousers and kidnapped by the Utroms.

- Movie 3 : Turtles go to rescue Splinter from T.C.R.I. Get caught up in the Transmat device and transported to Dimension-X ( another nod to the 80's toon). Befriends the Fugitoid. Finds out Krang wants to use the Triceratons to invade our dimension. Turtles battle Triceratons in arena fight. Defeats Krang and destroys his ship, the Technodrome ( another nod), and are transported home.

- Movie 4 : Turtles return to New York. Learn that the Foot is rebuilt and led by Karai. Turtles meet Casey Jones. Does battle with the Foot, and 4 new mutants , (Slash, Tokka, Rahzar, and Leatherhead) defeats them all except Leatherhead , who turns on the Foot. A final showdown between the turtles and a cloned ,mutated Super Shredder.

Trust me, I know this will NEVER HAPPEN, but it would be cool to see a turtle movies like these that contain elements from the Mirage Comic and 80's toon.

I think the Turtles will be Earth bound for sure.

I say keep it simple but don't make an homage ala Superman Returns, which wasn't as progressive as it should have been as a film.

If you gonna put The Foot and Shredder in there, then put in Baxter and the mousers. Put in themes that haven't been explored in the previous movies.

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. A serious animated PG-13 straight to dvd movies based on the above material to coinside with the New movie would be awesome.

Cheesy ? I don't see how a group of alien dinosaurs in a mythos based on mutant turtles can be consider cheesy. I always thought the Triceratons were Bad-Ass. The thing about the turtles stories is that they can adapt to almost any genre. They can do gritty, urban crime, and sci-Fi. Having the Triceratons and Utroms after the Foot is just a natural progression of the turtles adventures like in the original comics. The turtles need to do more than just fight the foot and the Shredder . It's been done to death ( and especially since the turtles killed the Shredder in the very first issue.) Usagi would probably never be in a live action turtle movie because he wasn't created by Eastman and Laird , but by Stan Saki and has his own comic book frnachise.

I don't mind a change from the standard Foot as enemies, but I think going from Ninjas to Space Traveling Dinosaurs is a bit much of a change. I don't mind if alien elements in form of the Utroms get introduced, but I can do without Dinosaurs in space.

The turtles work as extraordinary [accidental] creatures in an ordinary world. You can't have some other elements to stretch believability, like Baxter Stockman and his mousers, but having dinosaurs from space is overkill.

If thats the case then, half of the characters in comics are overkill.

I agree though I wouldn't having Leatherhead in there.

Some charcters are way past due to their movie debut. That's why I was angry at Part 3 and especially TMNT.
