According to Claremont, Marvel has given him the gren light to pen a new New Mutants series with the same rules as X-men Forever.

And now for something completely different -- coming in the spring, 2010, will be New Mutants Forever, courtesy of me, Editor Jordan White and an artist to be named soon (ahh, where's Sienkevitch when you really need him? Or Arthur? Or Rick? Or Leialoha? But I digress ... ) Same rules as XMF, the series picks up right where I left off, in the aftermatch of the two-part adventure with the Hellions. As with XMF, it should prove an interesting contrast / alternative to its 616 counterpart -- and of course, this one will actually give a credit to the series / characters creators, what a concept!

Give it a try, should be fun. We might even manage to catch you all by surprise.

Cordially,

Chris Claremont

Nnnnnnnnnnnnnooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Im guessing XMF is gonna be canceled soon and this is what they are giving CC next bc that seems to be Marvel's pattern with this guy. I dont see why they would even do this considering XMF sales have been poor. New Mutants are less popular and will only do worse in an ongoing

Yeah claremont has to stay down he WAS good but he sucks so far so yeah this wont go as far as 5 issues.

why would Marvel give him New Mutants Forever if they are about to cancel X-men Forever????? XMF is safe until ish 25 people

Thats the question most fans have been asking for years. The pattern with Marvel and Claremont is that they give him a new series, cancel it and then give him another one right after to work on. Its been the same cycle for a while with him

I don think XMF is gonna get cancelled...one of the solicits mentioned a new backup feature in XMF where he writes about the rest of the 161 marvel universe

CC posted again. Seems this is only a mini

The only way anything's going to happen is with reader support -- and in the case of books like NMF that means talking to your local comics retailers before they place initial orders for the series. Fact is, NMF is a 5 issue mini-series. By the time Marvel has the slightest idea about sales, we're done -- much as what happened with geNext. If you want this to work in the marketplace, you have to be aggressively proactive. Editorial's basically looking at this as a one-shot and out project; only you readers can alter that dynamic, and that means being proactive, not reactive.

he doesnt have to even worry about anyone asking for this to be anything other than a mini....

well Louise Simonson will be writing a 5 issue limited series X-Factor Forever

This is getting ridiculous. I think Marvel is testing the wonders to create a new Forevers Line anaolgous to the Ultimate one
