New Playstation Store Update (8/16/07)

The PlayStation Store has finally been updated for this Thursday's refresh, bringing a slew of new content to PLAYSTATION 3 owners. Demos for EA's NCAA Football 08 (728 MB) and Codemasters DiRT (553 MB) are up now and ready to download. New game videos include the new animated episode and a second "making of" clip for Ninja Theory's Heavenly Sword, as well as new trailers for Folklore and Timeshift.
New movie trailers for Pixar's WALL-E, The Brothers of Solomon and The Lives of Others join new PS3 wallpapers for Blast Factor: Advanced Research and, again, Heavenly Sword. This update is so solid it makes me want to do our secret, multi-step handshake—you know, the one that ends with us doing a little hip bump and double finger gun snap-point at eachother?

DiRT's alright, didn't bother with the other demo.

MotorStorm's 20 times better though.

I did like the start menu interface. But, yeah I did not like the game either.

Yeah, I agree. I was initially excited, and while I'm pretty sure Dirt is a better game within it's own style of racing then Motorstorm is a racing game, Motorstorm is still the better game for me. I just wish Motorstorm wasn't crippled by a terrible offline mode. I spend more time just playing the demo then bothering to play the actual game.

The Heavenly Sword stuff is good but darn they're huge.

Time to bust out that EU PSN account on Wed.

EU PSN update due on Wednesday; Folklore demo included

The EU PSN store is in a sorry state, wouldn't you say? Don't worry, we've already said it for you. Don't worry though, while we were at Sony's 3Rooms today, we were told that Wednesday night will see a large update straight from Leipzig. Why Wednesday? Because that's when the Sony Press Conference is, of course. The update will contain lots of trailers from the show as well as an English language Folklore demo.

Don't go being tardy about downloading it, however. The demo will only be available for a limited time before being pulled down again. We're not entirely sure why, but we're warning you regardless. If you didn't play the Japanese demo (or if you did and got stuck, what with it being in Japanese and all) then get it downloaded. Folklore is unique in its aesthetic style as well as its gameplay and has been shamefully overlooked. It's like playing a Japanese Tim Burton film.
