For CFlash? Probably yes.
For me and most likely the "masses" (general public) hell no, we just want a good fun ride that is a very enjoyable film to watch.
One review that I think will also be great is Ebert. He looks at films critically as what they are aiming for and whether or not it succeeds at that. TF never aimed to be a film to make it to the academy awards. And so far from these reviews, it looks like TF has definitely succeeded in being a great fun adventure and action film.
IMO, Ebert is still the best reviewer.
Probably was looking at it (Garfield) as- how does this film succeed in being a good children's movie in Garfield's case.
Most critics don't seperate films while reviewing, it's always a compare and contrast. Ebert at least looks at the goal of a director and the audience he is trying to reach and whether or not that 'reach' was successful or not.
Finished? Or still feel the need to look around for things to bash Bay and the film with?
Did you not read his 'The Island' review or are you just going to act as though that 3/4 stars review for the film by Ebert never existed?
Also note that 'The Island' is Bay's most recent film and imo, his best.

If "routh" means good...I'm suspicious
Damn, I think Bay gets a lot of hate for the sake of hating him. Personally, I love all his films, the rock and the island in particular. BB2 was great too but the island was simply quite thrilling. The guy isn't a bad director and I think its amazing that Transformers, one of the most beloved iconic cult figures turned into a movie is being haled as Bay's best, the best movie of the summer, possibly of the year and perhaps one of the greatest action movies ever made.....and with the following Transformers has, pleasing the fans and critics is a daunting job. Bay deserves some serious props for this and I cant wait to see this masterpiece.
