Strangely enough I've been talking with my best friend for over a year that the biblical conflict between David and Saul would make for an interesting basis for a TV series. Lo and behold they are making one, the description is Game of Thrones without the dragons, but the inter-generational conflict might be similar to the first couple seasons of Vikings.

This does seem to be a case of the networks copying the success of the cable channels, but it might turn out to be a good show. Ray Winstone is one of my favorite actors to play aged bad-asses.
