I've been waiting to own a good version of this awesome film on DVD. Consider me, hyped!

The Criterion collection products are outstanding.

I have Bergman's The Seventh Seal from Criterion and its superb. They take the time to adjust for contrast and even make repairs to film damage where needed. And they typically have particularly good bonus material like commentaries and such.

I NEED IT!

It's true, all the Criterion DVDs I've bought (including The Seventh Seal) have had great quality, and often include some very cool special features. They've turned me into a Criterion ****e.

And I might need this DVD.

Yah really.

Anyways, that's freakin' fantastic, I'm putting money aside for it right now.

Go figure, I pay 30 bucks for the regular criterion version...

Cool, I've been wanting to see that film for a while, now I got a cool-ass way to view it. :)

If I didn't have a copy of the Seven Samurai on DVD, I'd get this.

I don't double dip

I'll do it for this movie. My favorite of all time.

eeeeeet!!!

Already own in previous CC DVD...

I actually have this, Yojimbo, Sanjuro, Hidden Fortress, and Kagemusha on Criterion DVD. I didn't pick up Ran, because I have the older version on a different kind of DVD.

Love Kurosawa.

Toshiro Mifune = god.

Awesome. I was just going to buy this movie today, and then I see this. Thank God. I'll wait for this version. Thanks Gammy for posting.

I've been thinking about buying The 7 Samurais dvd before (one of my favorites from Kurosawa), but I hesitate for a long time. Now I can buy this dvd which puts all other previous versions to shame. :D

I already have the earlier version, plus a Hong Kong edition of it, but this is still a must-have.

This has one of my all time favorite performances of all time, Toshirô Mifune as Kikuchiyo. I'll probably be buying this. Now I love Criterion Editions, I own 8 1/2, Videodrome, Mr. Arkadin, Straw Dogs, Brazil, and some others, but there prices are so god-damn expensive! 50 bucks for one movie! I'll dish out for this and I need to get the Seventh Seal, but... Man I wish they'd change there pricing structure...

You have the Brazil Criterion Edition???
DAMN YOU

I want it :(

I now have to pay another 20 bucks to up to an anamorphic transfer but I probably won't bother till I get a better TV, and by then I'll upgrade to HD... So it's going be a looonnnngg time :(
