New to marvel, what lead up to civil war?

Oh, I don't think it will be total slop. I just think the lead up to it could have been far better.

Marvel is just catching up to DC..again.Check out eariler threads,Civil War was made to combat Infinite Crisis,which i doubt CW will suprpass IC.

Its just sad how Marvel is throwing stuff together and people still buy into it,oh well..i suppose Marvel readers will just waste their money again,like on The Other and HoM.

Actually, I wouldn't be too surprised if IC tops CW. It's probably going to better than House of M and has your usual big merchandise hitters in Cap, Spidey and Wolverine. And heck, historically, Marvel has been selling better than DC for ages now, I think they'll continue that trend for a while more.

Sigh. Here's my opinion "IC kinda sucked." The story didn't hold my attention. Even after I read up on all of the oddball characters like Uncle Sam, it just didn't catch me.

The problem here is that these things are highly subjective, based upon reading tastes and loyalty/history with a certain brand. I say that my money is well spent on Marvel, and that buying DC's "52" is a waste.

I'm sure you'll say different.

I agree, for someone coming from your perspective, 52 WOULD be a waste

but I bet I can name at least a few DC books that would change your mind if you gave them a chance
