1. I'm not sure how many games are online. But with the internet you can access the Virtual Console, and buy/play oldschool games.

2. The light stays yellow when the system is off.

3. I find the top better, but I think it all depends on how high off the ground your tv is.

4. No

5. By holding the power button on the Wiimote, or Holding the power button on the console.

6. For games like Wii Sports, that utilize the sensor bar, get Rayman and Warioware. Both have great mini games that show what the wiimote can do.
For non-wiimote heavy games, Zelda is the primo choice.

Really? My Power light is Red when its off.

Right now Nintendo's online games include only Pokemon Battle Revolution and Mario Strikers Charged. The list will soon expand to include EA Sports' games, Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Mario Kart, Guitar Hero III and other games.

You can also surf the Internet with the Internet Channel if you have it. And download games from the Nintendo, Super Nintendo, Nintendo 64, Sega Genesis, and Turbo-Graphix 16 consoles on the Virtual Console Channel.

2. Is there light always suppose to be on next to the power thing in the front of the wii ?
Yes, the Wii is constantly on in some form.

3. Where is that bar better placed at, top or bottom?
I put mine on top.

4. Can you play wii sports online?
No

5. How do you correctly turn it off?
Unplug it I guess. The Wii usually stays on in some form though. So don't worry about it.

Super Paper Mario and Mario Strikers Charged. But Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, Super Mario Galaxy, Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles, Guitar Hero III, and Super Smash Bros. Brawl are comming out soon!

thanks for all the info!

yea mines still red too.

what kind of updates are available?

When your standby light is yellow it is letting you know that WiiConnect24 is on and it's still connected to the internet. If it's red then the WiiConnect24 is off or you don't have internet hooked up.

the red light is off after i turn the wii off with no internet.

i think its just a stanby light or something

Mine was always red, but now is yellow....and I don't have wii connect.

1. There are only really 2 Wi-Fi games atm, Mario Strikers Charged and Pokemon Battle Revolution. With the internet you can also access the actual internet from you Wii and the virtual console.

2. By default the light is always going to be on, but I suggest you unplug your Wii when you're done playing it as there are a lot of cases of Wii's overheating when WiiConnect24 is left on (yellow light)

3. All depends on preference, I prefer top though.

4. No

5. Just press the power button and its "off"

6. Get Resident Evil 4, Mario strikers charged, Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess and Super Paper Mario, best games for Wii atm.

as far as i know, the yellow/orange light means that the wii is connected to wiiconnect24, if it's red it's not.

and for games, you just can't go wrong with excite truck, mario strikers charged and rayman...although if you're anything like me an' my friends, mario strikers gets seriously competetive! and zelda is well worth a purchase.

i agree with KorrZ. If you've never played RE4, get it. Mario Strikers is a blast, Twilight Princess is the best game on the Wii in my opinion and Super Paper Mario is excellent as well.

As far as the light thing...Mine was red until i got that first update thing. I don't really remember that though since i've had mine sicne day one.

So i tried setting up the internet on the wii till like 3AM

and no luck =/

keep getting error code 52030:cmad: :cmad: :cmad:

You may not have WiFi or a compatible router.

the router i have rite now i guess isnt wii online-compatible.

so im setting up a linksys router now, hopefully that works now.

mine didnt =/

so now the comcast man is coming on tuesday to change the router we have
for our interent and it should work with the wii

If your Wii is close to a computer, you could get one of those Nintendo WiFi USB connectors.

it is for the moment but it was just to help set it up and be near by.

afterwards its going back up stairs in my room.

whats the range for the USB thing? im thinking about trying that.

the new router i got will get me online, only if i turn off firewall and thats a big risk

so my wii and comp are on two different floors.

will the USB work if i connect it to a near by labtop or does it have
to be the main computer?

it will work connected to a laptop as long as the laptop has a connection

thats how i have mine set up

and the range is something like 30 feet

does the laptop have to be on?

and would it reach if the wii and the comp are on different floors?

Are there any other Wifi networks in your neighborhood. If so, you may need to change the channel your router is using to separate your signal from there's so your Wii has an easier time detecting it. Especially important if you've got distance or objects between the Wii and router.

You may also need to change the transfer rate (Tx) on your router.
