New Wii Remote

Nice, I may just upgrade to one or two of these bad boys.

About time, I'd say. It's too bad Nintendo didn't release these from the start.

Hopefully this means they'll be focusing their attention on making more wii motion plus games.

I wouldn't hold your breath. This is just a replacement for the Wii Play pack, which sold gangbusters. It's a marketing decision and they are going to make a **** load of money from it. The next Nintendo game to use it will probably be Zelda and then it will never be heard from again.

I am not upgrading, considering the only Motion+ game I own is Resort and I don't touch that anymore. Also, I bought their last upgrade, I'm getting annoyed with Nintendo's constant revision mentality.

I dont know what took them so long. I thought the Wii mote would have been discontinued as soon as the Plus was released.

The system would have cost $300-$400 and controllers $60-70, probably more. No one ever thinks about that.

I think that's wishful thinking on your end. They're going to start making more games with it. There just hasn't been a game that uses it that has been a must own. Zelda will change that. They definitely won't abandon it with Move and Kinect coming out.

Dammit Nintendo, just call them Wiimotes already.

Aside from Zelda and small games like FlingSmash, I really doubt the motion plus will get much use in the next year. It's been in the market for over a year now, and look at all the supported games you can buy. I think Nintendo has already shown how interested it is in taking advantage of the Plus.

I also don't think that either Kinect or Move will have that big of an impact on the market/industry. Move is out there already and I don't think many people are talking about it.

They haven't been able to develop a big game that uses it until Zelda. They probably started Galaxy 2 before it was ready. Other M might have been the same (or they passed on it due to it's style). I guarantee the next Mario game will use it.

Move just came out though. I expect it to pick up eventually. I don't see Kinect catching on though.

That doesn't stop third parties from trying, and I can't think of anything aside from Red Steel and a few sports games that have used it. Obviously, the problem is that not everyone has a Motion Plus (though I have to think a huge percentage of the user base bought Resort), so developers don't want to devote extra resources. But, I really think this would be solved if Nintendo were backing the Motion Plus more.

It's another problem all together that Nintendo can't come up with more games to develop that utilize it... Maybe Wii Music 2 will have Plus support.

Either way, from what I have seen and what we know of Move, I don't think the Motion Plus can match it in terms of precision, fidelity, and software support. Watching Giant Bomb play Tumble at the end of this quick look really shows how well the Move works. Looking at how precise that is, I can't help but think of how janky Wii Sports Resort can be at times.

I just wish they came out with a wiimote that feels like a classic controller, so I can play New Super Mario Bros, and soon DKC, and not feel awkward with it. I have a classic controller, and I love it when I can use it, but some game only let you play with the regular wiimote for the sound effects and shaking capabilities. :(

The new DKC uses the wii mote and nunchucks.

NOOOOOOOOO! I thought you had to tilt it sideways like the new Mario. Hmmmm, I was looking forward to that game, but not with this news. :csad:
