The Dark Knight New York Times set visit (A Must SEE)

Good point. His performance will be great I'm sure, but Oscar worthy? I don't know.

The Academy doesn't know what they're doing though. They don't always reward the people who deserve it. Look at De Niro, in no sane world could they not give him the Oscar for his role in Taxi Driver.
So, it's not a case of Ledger not being worthy, it's whether that cadre of old men will get what he's doing. And being old men they probably won't.

lol, heath cant get the oscar because he is dead.

That's not funny & that is disgusting for saying something like that about someone. You're really an ass for saying things like that. Typical stupid Burtonite saying insensitive thing like that & laughing. :whatever:

It's as simple as putting him on your ignore list. Also, he's not the poster boy for Burton fans by any means - just those who act in the same way :cwink:

Wow, thanks for posting those pictures and the article. Great read!

I'm so excited for this film...I just think Ledger's performance will be much more mesmorizing than even we realize...

Sounds like :hoboj: drained Ledger mentally and physically...it's quite frightful to think about, but amazing.

Just say something about Burton true or not and he'll type a response a page long telling you your wrong, even if he dosent have his facts right.

The more I read about Nolan, the cooler he seems. :word: Awesome that he still works without a second unit. I guess he still has the indie director thing in him, which is really refreshing.

Everything TDK-related is ALWAYS cool but these so-called new pics aren't actually anything new IMO. Different poses sure, but we've seen pics from these scenes before. Batman & The Cop Car, The Interrogation, Batman with his new vehicle etc. All we get is just different variations of the same thing. So when it comes to all these released pictures, they really have been milking the same cow all over again. But that's okay b/c this way we don't get too spoiled. I think it's better that we are given few pics from two or three scenes than if we were given, say, one pic from every scene of the movie. I mean I don't know about you guys but I've been able to maintain myself relatively spoiler-free through out this entire project. When I come to think of it, I really don't know all that much about TDK. And that's the way I like it.

Oh and by the way, Joker/Ledger looks fantastic in this new picture. Great expression! And the bat suit looks badass too!

I agree. That's the Academy for you. :csad:

"And now you have not just a young man in pain attempting to find some kind of an answer, you have somebody who actually has power, who is burdened by that power, and is having to recognize the difference between attaining that power and holding on to it."

Is this a spider-man or batman quote? Sounds like Sam Raimi.

That's pretty deep. It summarizes what Bruce is going to be going through in the next one. I'm especially excited to see how this rolls out. It'd be an interesting step in Bruce's life, and nice to see how it would unravel in a comic book movie. Not many do that these days.:brucebat:

i dont think ledger will be oscar worthy in this film, plus the academy never gives oscars to comic book films, acting wise at least.

Heck, they nominated Depp in Pirates, so I wouldn't be surprised if he got nominated.

They don't take Batman films seriously, '89 only one to get an Oscar, but for special effects...lame, lame, totally lame.

Yeah, but judging from the serious tone of this new movie, they might be more inclined to give it a better look. TDK has a more adult feeling then B89 did (and I'm not saying that in a derogatory way, I don't want to start a flame war).

Don't know if this was apart of the Times article, but here's a quote from another site:

This summer fans will see Batman navigate his home turf, Gotham, with less globetrotting, as the mass murdering Joker descends on the troubled city. Nolan explains what inspired the dark story: “As we looked through the comics, there was this fascinating idea that Batman’s presence in Gotham actually attracts criminals to Gotham, attracts lunacy. When you’re dealing with questionable notions like people taking the law into their own hands, you have to really ask, where does that lead? That’s what makes the character so dark, because he expresses a vengeful desire.”
