Next Big Cosmic Event:The Thanos Imperative

Not sure. That would be kind of interesting. I've always wondered if there are Kree Deviants. I know there are Kree Eternals, but I don't think I've ever seen a Deviant offshoot of their species.

Maybe the normal Kree wiped the Deviant branch long ago like the Skrull Deviants wiped out the Eternal and Normal branches ?

I've read only a few thing with Dire Wraiths and they don't seem as big a deal as the writers are making them. I remember some from an old issue of Uncanny X-Men and then from the end of the first New Warriors ongoing.

They were a big deal in ROM, which is out of print because the toy company is greedy/stupid. :o

maybe a stupid question, but what's ROM?

Old-timey character. One of those Licensed characters like the old GI Joe/Transformers comics Marvel used to put out. I think ROM pre-dates both series by a couple of years.

Depending on who you ask, ROM was probably the most successful Cosmic character after the Surfer in terms of character.

I truly dig his old-school desgin. If they made a Marvel Legends fig out of him, I'd hunt it down to the ends of the Earth.

I'm really wanting to get the TPB for this but would I have to get War Of Kings as well and that seems to lead into this?

Not necessarilly, though it would help. I think it can be read on its own but War of Kings is actualy a better story so you'd be doing yourself a service in getting that.

Realm of Kings is more of a lead-in than War of Kings. But I think the story can stand on its own enough for you to pick up without backtracking.

Then again, I have everything from Annihilation up to this collected already.

When I saw this thread resurrected, I thought Marvel was bringing back their cosmic side and that somehow Nova, Starlord and Thanos survived.

Looks like some sort of Nova is coming about in their upcoming Point One book. Dunno how or who, though.

Well, I have all 3 Annihilation books and book 1 of Annihilation Conquest, so other than book 2 of the latter what leads upto The Thanos Imperative?

Big events would only be War of Kings but reading the Nova and Guardians of the Galaxy ongoings also help fill the gaps and build to each event and they were really good besides. Also, Nova's first tpb is somewhat necessary toward Annihilation Conquest in case you're interested.

As for leading into the Thanos Imperative I honestly think it's easier dealing with individual issues than trades.

Realm of Kings Oneshot
Guardians of the Galaxy 24-25
Nova 29

However, no trade collects those together so for all of those you'd have to buy Realm of Kings tpb, Guardians of the Galaxy: Realm of Kings, and Nova: Realm of Kings. They're all good stories but unnecessary if you just want Thanos Imperative lead-ins.

Personally, since you seem really interested in picking up the cosmic events I suggest just buying them all and the Nova and GotG trades as well and just read them all chronologically. It's a very good and fulfilling read and you won't have to pick around to get the proper lead-ins to understand the event. Since you have all of Annihilation and the first Annihilation Conquest you're well on your way. Nova's first tpb and the second Conquest trade would make you complete through that point. Guardians of the Galaxy picks up after that and just keep going.

^Thanks for the info, the only thing is I am trying to hold off on buying TPB's now-a-days as I just find them too expensive, so I will probably just end up buying TTI on its with possibly WOK, as buying all of the others seems way to expensive when I have looked into it, but again, thanks for the info.

I would also throw in the second Nova trade as well, it helps lead into the end of the Annihilation Conquest and explains why he appears out of nowhere with the people he does.

No problem. Best of luck to you :)

Thanks

Again though its about money, I really wanted to continue reading Nova after Annihilation finished as I loved him in that series, really got into the character, but he now has around 8 TPB's of his own and is involved in The Thanos Imperative amoung other things I believe, all that is about £150 worth of books which I just refuse to spend.

Thanks for the info though.

Get on ebay. You can probably find the whole series in individual issues for much cheaper.
