NFL - Game On

The Steelers are one of the best run, best coached teams in the league.....maybe THE best. In the last 55 years (since 1969), they have had exactly 3 coaches; Chuck Roll, Bill Cowher, and Mike Tomlin. The first two are in the HoF and the 3rd will be soon enough. You think they're glad they hired Tomlin?

Jameis Winston.......man......I really like him, BUT the dude is playing with fire. He's making throws that are just BARELY getting there in time and then one that didn't. I was telling my son right before that INT that he's got to get the ball to his receivers faster. Off the top of my head, I can think of three passes that could have been picked. The guy can get the ball to you in a big hurry, but I think he depends on it too much.

I think Winston is a powder keg.

EDIT: Man, Bo Nix is REALLY accurate.......It's a weird game. To me, Cleveland looks like the better team midway through the 3rd QTR.

Jameis Winston was 34/58 for 497 yards and 4 touchdowns. And they still lost the game. :funny:

Yeah, it's going to be tough to win a game when you throw 3 INTS, with two being Pick 6's.

I thought the Browns were going to eat a dub last night.

I had to live through the Winston years before the gods gifted us Brady. He's extremely erratic and unpredictable. The only player to score 30 TD's and 30 INT in the same season. He plays with a lot of heart though.

I think given where the Browns are with the Watsom debacle and QB in general, Winston is probably their best for a bridge QB. There just isn't anyone really on the market that's going to fill that QB void. So just gotta draft a rookie, develop them, and let Winston play in the meantime

I agree with you, but from what I've seen of him, his pass selection makes Lawrence look like Tom Brady (okay.....I'm exaggerating. LOL). I think he could be a really good QB, but man does he throw into a LOT of traffic and into tiny windows. You can't win in the NFL if your QB is that inconsistent. Nix made some bad choices himself, but he's only started a few games, but man does he have an accurate arm on medium and medium deep routes.

I think Jameis can win them a couple of games though.....

Yeah but I don't think we are having a conversation about Winston playing 10 or 15 years for the team. We are talking about maybe next season as the starter or maybe 2 depending upon on what the rookie situation looks like, and as a stop gap it's fine. Even with Winston throwing bad picks like he does, I think the Browns easily would be a 6ish win team with him right now and that has you in the playoff mix this year.

I agree. That being said, a lot of top-notch quarterbacks don’t really fully mature until their mid to late 20s. The uncommon thing is when someone comes in and just kills it right off the bat. Those guys are very rare. Lawrence needs some good coaching, that’s for sure and I’m not sure he’s going to get it where he’s at unless management gets a lot smarter.

Good. I’ve always thought that when someone takes a complete and utter cheap shot on someone and puts them out, they should have a minimum number of games and extend it based on how long the other player takes to come back. Not necessarily game for game, but an extension.

@InCali I'm a little concerned Aidan 'Oconnell is going to end up winning a few games for us. I think Minshew/Getsy combo was a guarantee 1st overall pick, AOC12 + The Turners may end up winning us 2-3 games 😭

O'Connell looked really good against KC and I was thinking the same thing. I don't know if we can los the Tank Bowl on the 22nd. :funny:

TBH, IF O'Connell can be the guy (which I kinda doubt.....but he could be on the upside of average, there's a guy who I think could be a real difference maker....Hunter......I don't see him lasting past pick #3.

I'm not completely sold on Sanders, but there's no Williams, Maye, Daniels trio in this year's class. There could be a good one, but last year had a diriculous number of possible really nice QBs.

Looks like Jacobi Meyers may be out for the Raiders.....he was out of practice on Thursday because of an ankle injury.

Probably got it during

AOC also missed practice. He got sick apparently.

Yeah, I'm a little more on the positive side for Sanders. He's playing behind a not-so-great Oline, but still putting up numbers and making plays. I've watched a lot of Colorado ball since Deion got over there. My wife is originally from Colorado, so here's side of the family has recently discovered college football. 😆 That said, if he came out last year, he still probably would have been the 4th or 5th QB selected, if that.

I see Hunter winning the Heisman, possibly even going 1st depending who's picking.

I do hope the Raiders trade up if they can/have to for Sanders, time will tell.

Yeah.....I heard he got sick, but I'd rather have the flu than an ankle injury. He'll be playing Sunday unless something really weird happens. If I'm in the Raiders camp, I'm more worried about Meyers as he's done really well and gives the Raiders a couple of guys who can hurt you. If your QB only has one target, that's a problem.

Oh man......what a game between Lions and Packers. I'm surprised the Pack is as good as they are, but the Lions, with all their injuries, just look better. I don't know about some of Campbell's calls, but.....uh.....I don't know quite what to say other than the dude is gonna give someone a heart attack. :funny:

I was just looking at the Jags remaining games....2 against the Titans, the Raiders, Jets, and Colts.....if they can't win even one of those games, they deserve the #1 pick. That has to be one of the easiest runs ever. LOL

Tom Brady is retired as an NFL Player, so it's unsurprising that, as an NFL Fox commentator, he said quarterbacks should be held accountable for the whole sliding instead of just remaining in the ridiculously overprotected area.

It's far easier for the former legendary NFL quarterback to be objective as an NFL analyst and commentator on Fox.

As expected the Lions which are a Royal Flush aka a Super Bowl contender defeated a just good Packers team in a high-scoring competitive game. Most likely the 2024 roaring Lions will achieve their objective of getting home-field advantage so that they'll reach the Super Bowl for the first time ever.

Most likely vast people are jumping on the Lions bandwagon since they are having an incredible season, and realistically they could win 15 of 17 regular season games.

@InCali

I really think bro may Eli his way to Vegas lol! I saw his IG story this morning and was like yo haha!

Packers vs Lions last night was a fun game. Dan Campbell is crazy for that last call. He really seems to live by the sword, die by the sword. But hey, so far it's working out...

Yeah its pretty obvious that Sheduer wants to be a Raider. He's been seen chilling with Tom & Mark at Aces games.

If the NFL is smart...they'll try to make sure he goes to the Raiders. Because a QB division of Mahomes, Herbert, Nix & Sanders is ratings gold.

Yeah, they originally wanted Micheal Penix in last year's draft. Coach AP was even at the Washington vs Oregon game in LV. Falcons completely shifted that draft.

It should definitely be ratings gold. Especially if Sanders can eventually become a great/elite QB. Obviously Mahomes &Herbert are pretty solidified. Bo Nix is looking like he could be the franchise QB as well... so it could be a lot of fun.
