Nightcrawler versus Spidey-with-a-cold

Here's the deal:
Spiderman with a Bad cold loses part of his powers.



No - I don't know why,.... but it's happened a couple of times.


Nightcrawler on his best day while spidey has his worst would whoop the wallcrawler.

I don't expect this thread to clear five posts,... But I did threaten to start this thing.

Um.... thats great. Still doesn't change the fact that Spidey owned one of the most powerful X-men rosters ever, Nightcrawler included.

Eh...not sure why, but I'll bite.

Nightcrawler is agile, but Spiderman is more agile.

Nightcrawler's teleportation is nice, but as Wolverine has shown in the past can be predicted from it's smell, and be used against him as Wolverine punched Kurt and took a ride thru nightcrawlers teleporation with him. Spiderman's spidersense should tell him when Kurt appears from whatever angle allowing him to dodge it.

Spiderman's super strength and webbing more than make it a mismatch.

I like Nightcrawler, but I just can't see him walking away with the victory. At most he gets a 1/10, and that would come from his natural camo blending into shadows and getting a sneak attack. In all honesty the much faster and stronger Spidey would tear Nightcrawler up in close range, and web him from a distance, unless Kurt teleports to close range again then read above.

It all depends on what this power debilitating cold does lol. If it robs Spiderman of everything but his superstrength then sure, Nightcrawler wins. If it takes away everything but his agile it's a toss up. If he retains his powers, but he's just weakened, then Spiderman still wins IMO.

Now if we're talking the movie Nightcrawler from the beginning of the X2 movie, vs. movie Spiderman, that'd be a fun fight to see .

well the reason wolverine can predict nightcrawlers teles so well is that the two have been training together for x amonut of years so there is bound to be a few pick up in tendencies, but at the same time im not sayin kurt will win either.

But to answer some things.

In one flu season,.. Spidey lost the ability to cling to surfaces and his spidersense was "muffled".

In another his strength and agility was completly GONE.


Wolverine actually "smelled" the arrival before it happened? REALLY?
That goes against the explanation of Kurts powers.

If the Black widow can whoop him when he's sick,..... Kurt should have no trouble.

moving ur eyeballs faster and smelling something before it exists are two totally different things

He's not smelling him before he appears lol, it's the second he appears. Nightcrawler gives off the smell of Brimstone when he 'Bamfs', and it's an offensive smell. Wolverine has heightened sense and Nightcrawlers 'porting can probably easily be detected the second he does it even if he's not in the same room as Wolverine. Wolverine can smell Nightcrawlers porting the instant he's coming out on the other end, and can, and has reacted instantly.

Think of someone throwing a ball and your peripheral vision picks it up out of the corner of your eye and you react. Now imagine you have above normal reflexes, and you can literally smell the sweat on the ball coming, and have incredible eye sight that picks it up easier.

Ya tho, them being on a team for a long time helps too . When it happened (have the classic version of that comic somwhere), Wolverine says something like "If I know Kurt he'll appear around here", but second Nightcrawler ports, Wolverine turns right towards him. He expected him to appear, but his senses locked onto him, and coupled with him being alert and expecting it, he tagged Nightcrawler and hitched a ride.

Eh depends on who is writing. A certain person would make spideys code be some mystical next transformation and he will shoot webbing out of his ass and gain the ability to fly.

I think he's talking about Secret Wars where Spidey tore through Wolverine, Cyclops, Colossus, Rogue and Storm...I think.

Nice! Whenever it's a one versus many sittyation, I always prefer it when the one is just a guy who can fight well (a la Spidey) as opposed to a uber powerful dude (a la Magneto or Apocalypse).

Cyke, Collosus, Rogue, Storm, Nightcrawler, and Professor Xavier, who was walking at the time. It was inside, so Storm couldn't call down the full fury of the weather apon him(that's what she said). Best part of that was Spidey handling Wolverine with a simple backhand in one panel while saying that Wolverine is a joke to him. He also mentioned that Nightcrawler on his best day was not as strong, fast, or agile as him.

Now if this was "Nightcrawler vs. Spidey with a broken leg, shattered ribs and walking pneumonia" then I'd give it to Nightcrawler and only after a lengthy debate but since it's just a cold, Spidey takes it easily.

I remember two distinct issues where spiderman fought the x-men and was significantly weakened at the time. One was from broken ribs from a rhino fight and another was serious illness from a morbius bite I believe. In both cases he fought and beat the entire team only to pass out immediately afterwards. Now granted neither of those rosters included Nightcrawler but to me
Angel, Beast, Iceman, Jean Grey and Cyclops together would be much harder to beat than just Nightcrawler.
