I'm not getting my hopes up about this one :(. Just see what happens!

Not too hopeful for it after this Liepzig garbage. Please let X06 turn out better :(

Its pointless for them to hold a Wii event in New York a week before TGS if they are not talking about pricing and a launch date (for the states at least).

^That and Nintendo has said before that they were going to announce the price and date in September, so I'm about 90% sure that's what this is going to be about.

I dunno, TGS is where I still expect the biggie, although Nintendo as of late has kinda boggled me... they seem to be going in a different direction by throwing out info BEFORE big events, and then showing less than expected at showtime. E3 was a great show, but they threw out alot of info prior to the show.

There's a good chance this may be their chance to do just that again, but they're being unpredictable. A part of me thinks they're adjusting details too much... then again, they're going for their target with full force, and as an always happy consumer of Nintendo, I can't really rag on their strategy.

Man, I really do hope so. I'm getting tired of waiting. I feel like I have all this weight on my shoulders. I just wanna pre-order Wii, and get it out of the way. Then I can actually focus on my wedding instead of Wii.

I agree.:(

I think this one will give the goods. I strolled into mcdonalds today (as a happen to work for one.) And it looks like september's happy meal toys will be super mario.

Nintendo is trying to build the hype, so I think something big will happen by the end of the month.

anyone got any predictions on price n date

$200 late october is my guess

Just two weeks away!

Euro Wii-velations on Sept 15?
Nintendo prepping huge European event for September 15 - but what could it mean?
by Matt Wales

UK, August 31, 2006 - Studious readers of this fine website will no doubt already be aware that Nintendo has scheduled a major event for September 14 in the US, with the official invite (which may or may not be in the hands of certain IGN staff as we write) stating, "Nintendo of America personally invites you to experience our upcoming line up with Nintendo of America President Reggie Fils-Aime".

Rumours are rife that this could well be the daddy of all Wii events with speculation suggesting that all will finally be revealed in terms of the console's price and release date. But what of us Europeans, we hear you ask? Well, adding further credence to a megatons-worth of revelation, a similar event is to be held in London the following day, Friday September 15.

While it goes without saying that the event could turn out to be anything, the proximity of both transatlantic bashes has caused more than a mere eyebrow wrinkle in the office. Without having any firmer details, we can only suggest you stick Friday September 15 in your diary and keep those fingers crossed for some solid Euro-ccentric Wii information at long last. Invites are currently winging their way across the country, so we'll bring you more as that magic date draws nearer. http://wii.ign.com/articles/729/729634p1.html

Nice... Australian E.B Games stores are saying to expect (limited) Wii Demo units to be instore and playable by the end of the month

The news just gets better. I'll be online right after my morning class on the 14th.
Wii Hits Japan on 9/14
Nintendo to show off new games machine to Japanese press.
by Anoop Gantayat

September 1, 2006 - Nintendo seems to have set aside mid-September as worldwide Wii day. According to Japan's Kabushiki Shimbun newspaper, the company will be showing off the Wii to the Japanese press at an event scheduled to be held on 9/14.

Attendees will be able to sample the system first hand, the paper reports. The paper also expects pricing and release information to be announced at the event, something that would be inline with previous Nintendo statements.

A Japanese event held on the 14th coincides perfectly with similar events Nintendo has planned for the 15th in Europe and the 14th in America. Nintendo is expected to show region-specific products at each event. We eagerly anticipate our first look at Wiimote-based mahjong.

This event will mark the second time the Japanese press has gotten hands on time with the Wii. Following E3, Nintendo gathered select members of the press for a demo event using its E3 content. This time around, the games will likely be closer to completion.

The Nintendo event will be held one week before the Tokyo Game Show, where Sony and Microsoft will show off their own next generation offerings. Nintendo does not attend TGS, instead opting for its own product showings. http://wii.ign.com/articles/730/730116p1.html

They are clearly doing a global event thing. All signs point to them releasing the price point and release date. We have been let down before so lets not get our hopes too high up.

(Mine is breaking through the roof)

I just dont know why they didnt call it SPACE WORLD

It would been perfect, since what they are doing is a 'world' thing! Space World took place in one... place though. It wasn't something held in many different countries.

Mentok, what do you think man? What are you expecting the price and such to be? Release date? Bundles?

Nintendo are going to give them away for free and it will bring about world peace.

Nations will stop fighting and brotherly love will flow.

All thanks to the Wii.

Mabye not :O

I dont know... My guess is $230 at the most. Probably two different bundles.

Bundle 1

$220
Wii
Wiimote X2
Nunchuck X2
Wii Sports + 2 or 3 Virtual Console download games included.

Bundle 2

$190
Wii
Wiimote
Nunchuck
Wii Sports

Something like that I guess.

Release date? November 16th'ish.

Similar to what I predicted in another forum. I said no more then 250 though. With a white and black Wii available. Black will be the 199.99 version and white will be the 249.99 version (with component cables)

WHATEVER THE PRICING IS, EUROPE NEEDS TO GET A BREAK, IMO. I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY THAT TERRITORY CONTINUALLY GETS S**T ON BY THE GAMING INDUSTRY. IF NINTENDO IS SMART, THEY WILL HAVE A KICK-ASS EUROPEAN CAMPAIGN, WITH A CHEAPER PRICE, TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THE F***ING 'SONY' JUST GAVE THEM.

So true. Europe keeps getting screwed, for no appearent reason.

Yeah, Nintendo really need to launch in Europe (hell everywhere) this christmas. Sony gave them a huge present and they have to make the most of it.
