i was checking out the Back of the special edition cover on supermanhompeage, and there was nothing about director or any commentry.
i thought there was going to be some.
any one know? or does the back of the DVD case make it official??

Yeah no commentary. So my thread I made that actually was a good thread about what you'd like the crew to discuss was all for nothing.

singer!!!!!

well that blows, thought singer liked doing commentry, (unlike chris nolan on batman begins) damm, i was really looking foward to that, thats prob my fav feature of special edition DVDs

Ironically nolan did a commentary for begins' HD release coming out soon, I believe.

god, why cant they stick with jus one special edition (edition) of dvds!

Do you know if that's only for the HD release or are we getting another release of Begins on DVD too?

No commentary? Damn, I wanna see / hear that as well. Actually the best part on DVDs is always the bloopers part, is there any of that on the SR DVD?

Guess I can add Superman Returns to the ever growing list of WB dvds that I'm holding out for a double dip (with commentary) on. The list now stands at:

Batman Begins
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
V For Vendetta
Superman Returns

Gee, you want commentary from Tim Burton? I heard his Batman 89 commentary, the man is terrible at that. He repeats himself all the time, doesn´t finish his sentences...

Yeah, that wasn't the greatest, but his Pee Wee's Big Adventure was better, thanks to Paul Reubens being involved. Anyway, the real point is that Nolan, Burton and Singer have all done commentaries for other movies, and so I think WB is holding back for several double dips, so I'm doing a little holding off of my own. Not just for the commentaries, but for other extra features too. I was actually hoping WB was going to be more of a stand up studio than, say, those bastards at Fox, by releasing normal and Deluxe editions of DVDs on the same day. But the lack of director's commentaries on so many major releases is too conspicious, and that actually makes them worse than Fox, if that's what they're really planning. But we'll see.

That's right, there's no Nolan commentary yet, and apparently there will be no commentary by Singer yet, either. Oh well, at least we are getting deleted scenes, wich is more than what we got with Begins.

I read Nolan say in an interview that he doesn´t like doing commentary, at least before the movie´s been seen by an audience and they made up their own minds about it. He said that he did for Memento for reasons specific to that movie.
