The Dark Knight Nolan: "Running time comparable to the first film's 140 minutes"

How long do you want it to be? Joker doesn't have an origin, and I don't want twenty minutes of each character brooding, either. It don't have to be all wham bam thank you ma'am action, but give me some decent dialogue to fill in the gaps.

A perfect run time IMHO, a little longer than BB would be just fine with me, the length of a movie does not matter to me as long as it is good and this is going to be very good.

Maybe Batman Begins was a bit boring for some because of the origin but right from the get go in this movie we get the Joker right off the bat.

Batman Begins purpose was to set up for the epic film we will witness come July. It will do what Spiderman and Spiderman 2 did but probably top that off. Its quite obvious we are getting a more arrogant bruce wayne, i more badass Batman/ detective is up, the best Joker on Screen and the whole harvey dent arc.

You don't want to have all that crammed up in like a 90 min film.

pretty big, imo. but I think 2 hours and 20 can make it, since there's no origins again, this time.

yea, it took about 50 minutes into BB before Bruce became Batman, about an hour into it before Crane came in and it wasn't until the last twenty minutes that we even see the real Ra's and hear what his scheme is.

now, the opening scene shows the joker, batman is batman, and we'll likely get more dent than we even got with Neeson's Ra's in BB, which was a fully developed character.

Good news about TDK, but rather discouraging news about Iron Man. Very few action movies are good under a runtime of less than 110 minutes.

Lawrence of Arabia was the quickest four hours of my life. An excellent movie.

Yeah that lovefest was Pippin and Merry jumping on top of Frodo and laughing and smiling all the while Gandalf's perverted self is probably laughing because the hobbits look like little kids. Then Gimli the dwarf comes in screaming, I honestly thought he was going to join in with the look on his face. Then right before the scene ended, in comes Master Samwise, and Frodo gives him that fabulous smile.

Joker has an origin if you're Alan Moore. And I hope at least in this movie or movie 3 it's explained how he came to be.

Also, I think it's good Nolan is making it almost 2 and half hours. He's cramming in alot of stuff and a movie like this requires enough time and patience and scenes. Spider-Man 3 was all about interweaving and intertwining multiple stories together but Raimi had a hard time letting the movie breathe with just slowing things down instead of gluing this scene with that scene.

I trust Nolan will handle this movie well. The synopsis of the first 6-minutes has gotten me fired up and ready for this. Even the new aintitcoolnews.com pics has made me a believer.

I still however hope Joker is given an origin. I'd love to see Batman and Joker's final fight at a chemical factory and then Joker's makeup becomes permanently stuck on his face, but we'll see if that's the case. If not than I'd love to see by movie's end or movie 3 Harley come in and asked Joker about his life and he toils with her on his life, how he came to be, etc. then that'd be like "A little from column A, a little column B" or "multiple choice."

Sorry buddy, but an origin is just not happening...in this film at least.

The Joker's makeup being permanently stuck to his face at the end of the movie? That still wouldn't be an origin at all, and I personally don't like it much. But I respect your opinion.
