The Dark Knight Nolan: "Running time comparable to the first film's 140 minutes"

2:20 without credits is probably what we'll get

Yep.....sincerely hope so !

The previous interview of Nolan mentionning approximately the same amount of time than Begins was made before he edited the whole movie ! I guess he "discovered" he needed more than that !

No, he was making an educated guess on the edited footage before it was actually edited.

I say 147. Or 148.

mmm......no, no....142 minutes.

This thread is pointless. Why dont we guess the lottery numbers why we re at it?

I agree. There is no point arguing about the runtime. Nolan said the film was going to be 140 minutes. The first cut is 150 minutes. He and Lee Smith are probably going to refine the film, cutting 10 minutes of fat out of it.

140 minutes.

What else?

Batman Begins was actually 2 hours and 11 minutes long (sans the 9 minutes of end credits), TDK will probably be marginally longer than that.

I don't care how long it is, as long as it's paced right. But keep it less than 3 hours long.

I'll toss my fedora into the ring...

2 hours 25 minutes and 43 seconds:indy:

Boo-yah!

I'll be happy so long as the runtime is at least as long as Batman Begins.

I hope you guys know if TDK isn't any good at the Box Office chances are the next one will be alot shorter.

I hope its long. I get tickled at the thought of being in a movie with such anticipation. I like watching movies and getting mad in the middle thinking that its almost over and then there's another hour to it :)

what like the Xmen3 treatment? More showings in the theater to make more money, rather than good story, film etc.?

No, not like that. There's no doubt in my mind that TDK will pull off both. I see it having a good range of showings in theaters across the states, and have be a credible good film at the same time.

I didnt think it would by any means, I jw exactly what you meant!

If the director's cut is 2 and 1/2 hours, I don't imagine it'll be longer than that. It's gonna have to be long:

- Gang warfare led presumably by Maroni
- Joker
- Establishing Harvey Dent
- At least 2 other rumored villains
- A trip to Thailand

Sounds like a lot of stuff involved in this one!

Joker, Harvey and two more villains? Do you mean the reporter and someone else?

Also, Hong Kong is in China.

Meanwhile early word on "The Dark Knight" is that Chris Nolan's cut clocks in at nearly three hours and it's unlikely to be cut down much further despite the studio's desire for a more manageable 150 minutes. Nolan's "Batman Begins" came in at 140 minutes so a slightly longer runtime for the sequel doesn't seem surprising and the immaculately conceived Devin Faraci over at CHUD thinks that, and I tend to agree, it'll probably come in at about 165 mins.

Responses to the articles have been interesting in that many seem surprisingly concerned about the Indy runtime, yet have absolutely no problem with a three-hour Batman. Very early buzz on Indy already warns to 'keep your expectations in check'.
