Perhaps the best piece of entertainment news I've heard all week, second only to Paris Hilton now having a criminal record, is the news of Eddie Murphy's next comedy picture which looks to be funny as hell. For those who may not know yet, in February, Murphy will release "Norbit", another tour de force of Eddie doing what he does best, play every major character in a picture and throw in the occasional fat joke. I've always thought of Murphy as the John Travolta of comedians. Cut his teeth on a popular comedy show, then moved onto doing breakout hits with Paramount, until shortly down the road, he hit a creative slump and then bounced back HUGE with the Nutty Professor ten years past. Okay, maybe he's not breaking a lot of new ground with this upcoming gigglefest, but after enduring Pluto Nash, Daddy Day Care, Haunted Mansion, and I Spy, who cares how original his schtick is provided that he goes back to being the Eddie Murphy, the raw, pull no punches, Eddie Murphy who made many of us urinate all over ourselves hard once upon a time. Personally, I'm not a fan of "family-friendly" Eddie. Never really have been. I have a lot of faith in this new picture coming soon.
