Starship Dave, Eddie Murphy’s next film with Norbit director and critic-hater Brian Robbins. The concept is that a bunch of human-looking micro aliens pilot a craft that happens to take the form of a human that happens to look exactly like the captain

The Office/The Daily Show guy Ed Helms has just signed on to be the second-in-command officer, and Gabrielle Union will play some other crew member. While you might think she’d be a love interest, too, that’s not gonna happen due to the one genuine curveball this production has to offer.

Eddie’s love interest is going to be played by Elizabeth Banks.

If you aren't excited about this, something is seriously wrong with you.

20th Century Fox has revealed the trailer for the new Eddie Murphy sci-fi comedy, Meet Dave, opening in theaters on July 11. In the pic, Murphy plays Dave Ming Chang, newly arrived in New York City, who may be the ultimate fish out of water. There's something about him that's not quite right – for starters, he seems remarkably out of place and uncomfortable in his own body. And for good reason: "Dave" is not a man at all, but a ship made in the image of its miniature-sized captain (also Murphy). Elizabeth Banks and Gabrielle Union co-star.

+1 , Norbit was an absolute mess. I was so hyped for that movie then after I saw it, I couldnt believe how bad it sucked.

Eddie Murphy should have quit comedy 10 years ago, and gone into drama. The only watchable comedy he's done since 1998 was the voice of Donkey in the Shrek movies, and I'm willing to make that sacrifice.

You can tell it's a goofy PG/PG-13 comedy just by the font and color of the letters. Red letters in that font are the default.
