Norman Osborn tried to dump the "useless little gob of flesh" (his words, not mine) into the Osborn soup in "Death in the Family", that well-written, but horribly-drawn Green Goblin arc that was in adjectiveless Spider-Man a few years back I believe (same arc where Flash went into a coma).
