its understandable. They were 2 80s characters who were pretty much nonexistant once the 90s hit. They really didnt have much impact within the X-men and dont have any strong ties to any current X-men. Rogue and maybe Mystique is the closest to that. I wouldnt expect a newcomer to know who Dazzler or Longshot were, let alone know they were involved.

And they were in love and involved, but I dont think they were actually married. If so it was nothing legal.

supposedly..it isnt confirmed though. that and Shatterstar is also Benjamin Russell...which was a brain dead kid that the soul of Dazzler and Longshot's baby inhabited...and he just so happened to have mutant powers himself.

I started reading comics in 1995... and I still sknew they were an item... it was mentioned like in the first comic books I read (X-Men 46-47)
