Now Introducing HBO Max Classic

I'll believe it when I see it.

They key there is HBO, not HBO Max. I kind of believe that. Some of their bigger successes have been sci-fi/fantasy, which require bigger budgets.

The employee who sent that rn:

Paramount+: Feeling really depressed after threesome. What was supposed to be a fantasy ended up more rejection. Must get rid of toxic in community.

Now they are removing actual HBO shows....you're removing content that was meant for your service! This is ridic.

Zaslav on Scripted Drama: "It's like a kid's soccer game - everyone saw something that worked and started chasing the ball. It's way too expensive."

I cannot comprehend thinking that way about scripted tv - the definitive root of the medium for all of its history. And he's talking about it like its some lame fad. :cmad:

Wait he didnt…theres no way he…he actually said…WUT?! Did he sleep through the 2000s and 2010s?! Hes joking right?

Guy Fieri is an iconic series now?!

It is weird that they would highlight HBO Max as male skewing, yet bang the drum about their 'Sex and the City' franchise, including a second season of ...And Just Like That, due to launch next summer.

Also can't see Zaslav and his team being very supportive of shows like The Sex Lives of College Girls and Harley Quinn either.

Yet most of the growth of HBO Max was in women since it began to the point that there really is not a significant skew anymore.

What HBO and HBO Max are looking for in new series, from 'single-season thrillers' to fare like 'Veep' and 'Knives Out,' according to Hollywood insiders
They're all about data and algorithms... until the data contradicts their narrow-minded view of what's "For Men" and "For Women" and then they throw it out the window.

Any hope of giving Diana a girlfriend on screen is also gone.
We're also almost certain to get Hal as the sole focus of any Green Lantern project. If Aquaman wasn't their only billion dollar property at this point, Momoa would probably be getting booted for a mOrE aCuRraTe actor as well.

I’m betting that the free ad supported plan will be more Discovery+ content while the more premium versions will lean heavily on the HBO content. It will probably be similar to how Peacock does their plans.
