Now Introducing HBO Max Classic

Looking at these logos, I'm surprised they didn't go for Max Bros. :o

They might as well have gone with DiscoveryMax, or MaxDiscovery. Well both sound terrible but would've been better than "max".
I do not think they want to emphasize Discovery. Especially in a way that makes it sound like it's only Discovery, just,

I'm scared to search for Toddlers & Tiaras to see if it made it on there (it probably did). The algorithm will start recommending Honey Boo Boo and MILF Manor.
Honey Boo Boo, lol. :p

Honestly, I'm happy that MILF Manor exists. It completes the convergence of the 30 Rock universe and our own :o

one of the things that kinda annoys me if a movie had 2 versions of it available you could watch the other version like they did for Trek 2 and 6 but I was 10 minutes into Trek 6 but when I went to back to it not only had me start over but it no longer gave me the option to watch the directors edition like I was watching the other day.

I just checked in, and man, the app just looks bad. You can kind of feel what they stripped off the HBO Max version.

The only shows on TLC I would ever touch were Dr. Pimple Popper and My Feet are Killing Me - those are my trash reality TV shows, and I'm afraid to watch the new season of Pimple Popper for the same reason. :funny: I don't want any 90 day fiancée recs.

How would you not want to watch this masterpiece?

After I read the commentaries in this twitter, I think the change of name to just Max could be a good idea.

I'm glad they say that, because it would be the last thing we'd need, but "totally original and un-derivative in terms if its world" are not the words I'd use when they have 40 spin-off of Game of Thrones in the making.

They, more than any other channel or streaming service, decided to continue numerous shows that started as limited series only because they had success. True Detective, Big Little Lies, The White Lotus and Mare of Easttown immediately come to mind. Their biggest hit this year was a video game adaptation and one of their few other current shows is Perry Mason, which is a reboot.

So while I at least appreciate they're not going to do a Sopranos reboot or something I still think the wording she chose is not the most accurate.

The main point is they have no interest in doing reboots of their own shows.

The examples you listed are not reboots of their own shows. Adapting a video game is new. Spin-offs are new.

I got the point. The phrasing seems very ironic though. Most of their stuff is far from original these days.

Writer strike starts. Late night talk show go dark, SNL postponed, fall schedule announcements delayed.

A friend in the industry said they inadvertently discovered the change over from HBO Max to Max.

They had a friend getting residuals from a show on HBO/HBO Max. However now that it has switched to Max they’ll no longer receive residuals as the deal was for airing/streaming on HBO/HBO Max. And HBO Max doesn’t exist anymore.

So basically you’ll never talk me out of siding with the writers.
