I didn't get a Wii until last August, so I'm still catching up on games I missed. I've got 12 games so far, and there are still several I wanna get.

Yeah, when the Wii U comes out, I reckon the only Wii games I'll want to pick up again are Twilight Princess and Smash Bros, although I'm sure nostalgia will strike like it did for me with old gamecube games and I'll end up buying other stuff too

That's so stupidly misleading. You can tell Nintendo or someone just sent out a press release with that as a headline...

I'm sorry but, you CANNOT count 2nd playthrough and alternate play through modes into the total runtime. You can say those feature might give you 'xxxx' more hours of playtime, but it's extremely misleading the way they've worded it. The runtime generally should refer to the story. Hell, even Rocksteady were clear and specified in Arkham City the two different runtimes, with side missions/features and without.

I think the full playthrough will be close to 30 hours or so. That seems to be what it is for me anyways in a Zelda game.

Yeah, I'd hope it was about Windwaker length. Twilight Princess always felt a little short for me. That game could have definitely used a lot more sidequests.

yeah it definitely could have. Everything about Skyward Sword makes me think it will be the best one yet. All the changes that they have made to it. Its going to be phenomenal. With everyone talking about Skyrim, or Batman or Uncharted as the big goty contenders, I think Zelda is going to sneak up on everyone.

I don't know if Zelda will do that. I mean, everyone with a Wii is hanging out for Zelda since it's the only big release they're really waiting on, and those people aren't getting Skyrim or Batman or anything else unless they're multi-consoling it. And for those people, as great as Zelda is, it will still have to compete with all the other games, especially when people will have friends all playing the big multiplayer games. No, i think Zelda will blow away the Nintendo die hards and that's about it.

Not a fan of that music, at all. Where's the old shop music?!? Where's a pumping theme whilst flying?

Btw, the flying itself seems cool and hands on. Like how you actually manually fly somewhere then have to jump off and parachute down. That's pretty neat. Also, nice to have an upgrade system. I always thought the Zelda franchise could afford to go more RPG.

Wind Waker was way shorter than Twilight Princess

There were like 5 dungeons total.

Wind Waker had the tedious Triforce Piece hunt in the middle of it. If it weren't for that, I would have replayed it more.

No matter how annoyed I am that Nintendo takes forever to advance their games and a lot of their stuff is just pretty remakes... I can't ignore a new Zelda game and will probably even pick up the bundle since I don't have a Wii Remote+ yet.

November is a killer month for games this year.

I just started playing the Wind Waker again. Boy do I love this game.

I do too. It's one of my favorites. I would really like to see Wind Waker HD on WiiU at some point.

I love it until the Triforce piece fetching. If it weren't for that, I'd replay it more often.

Yeah, WW is one of my favorites too. The graphics still hold up great too... yet another plus of the cartoon style. The Tri-Force doesn't really bother me because the last time I did a playthrough I ended up finding most of the maps before I even needed them, so all I really had to do was just find the shards.

Yeah, I found most of the maps beforehand anyway. I mean, it was tedious, and they really should have had another dungeon instead of that. But I get it, they made this huge ocean and wanted more gameplay within that environment.

In any case, I heard the Japanese version is even more tedious so I guess we're lucky.

Overall still a great game, and you're probably right that it graphically holds up. I wish I had time to play it over before the new game comes out

I'm really looking forward to this game now. I was underestimating it before but I think it will end up a strong GOTY contender.
