I thought I was one of the only ones that still prefers a good ole fashioned controller. I use my GC controller for every game I can on Wii,

For me batteries can become quite expensive if you're trying to do a certain quest or mini game. If it takes you 30 or 40 time to beat it than it's just a drain.

I prefer a non battery controller as well

You know something? That combat looks incredibly slow and non-engaging. It reminds me of Assassins Creed 1 without any of the styled choreography. Just waiting a few seconds and slashing at a guy. And I hope that bug thing isn't always fired in that perspective... That seems to take you out of the action a little bit.

Orchestrated music is a good way to go. Now if we could just get some voice acting. No, not necessarily for Link (I don't want to start that debate), but I don't see any reason why other characters can't get voices.

It looks great! But I'm really nervous about the motion controls....I'm terrible when it comes to motion controls which is why I prefer controllers.

Hey guys. I have played OOT and Majora's Mask but not the newer games. This looks pretty good but i cant say its that different or innovative. The graphics and general look to it look about the same as well. What do you think?

Also, what's up with Link living in the sky? Is this some other link?

Yes, there are mutiple Links. OoT of MM have the same Link. Skyward Sword is a prequel to Ocarina of Time. You play as a previous Link.

Yep. It's been confirmed that the Skyward Sword becomes the Master Sword that's in the later game.

Pretty much what Doc Ock said. Just about all of the Zelda games, save for a few, feature a different Link. I think the purpose for this is to make all of the games accessible to new players, so that they can understand what is going on in the game without having to have played the previous titles.

God damn you Nintendo for acknowledging that there's a "timeline". Ugh.

So Skyward Sword is an earlier Zelda/Link tale?

Skyward Sword is the earliest game in the Zelda chronology.

They acknowledged there was one for years. And they're only saying that this takes place before Ocarina of Time which was the earliest game before that. There is an obvious sequence of games because many are connected.

Skyward Sword is first followed by Ocarina of Time.

Majora's Mask and Twilight Princess occur in the "Link returns to past and warns Zelda" ending of OoT.

Wind Waker and Phantom Hourglass take place in the "No Link" ending of OoT.

Legend of Zelda takes place before Zelda II.

Four Swords takes place before Four Swords Adventure.

I think Link to the Past takes place before Link's Awakening.

The other games and how they all fit together makes fans angry.

Link's Awakening is a sequel to A Link to the Past.

As for the time line these are the definites:

Skyward Sword ---> Ocarina of Time (Young Link) ---> Majora's Mask ---> Twilight Princess

Skyward Sword ---> Ocarina of Time (Adult Link) ---> The Wind Waker ---> Phantom Hourglass ---> Spirit Tracks

A Link to the Past ---> Link's Awakening ---> Legend of Zelda ---> Adventure of Link

And the Four Swords series:

The Minish Cap ---> Four Swords ---> Four Swords Adventures

I agree with this... the last time I played TP I kept thinking how cinematic the game already was, and how stupid it was that were was no voice acting. The next game on WiiU better have it, or I really will start getting annoyed about it... especially with the game itself looking like that tech demo.

LttP/LA and LoZ/AoL aren't necessarily connected in that order.

The Oracle games take place sequentially in either order.

I won't go in more since it just make some people pissed for no reason.

I would love a game where Link traveled through time/past Zelda games

Interesting idea. Similar to Back To The Future perhaps? Maybe Link bumps into another version of himself and sets about a chain reaction that changes past events? Ganon ends up ruling the world or something with all descendants of Zelda & Link in chains..? :cwink:

I'm pretty sure that they stated that A Link to the Past is the prequel to the original Legend of Zelda game.

Also, like the Four Sword games, did they ever really have a place to put the Oracle games?

If they did, that was like 15 years ago when there were half as many games.

The Oracle games can fit in a number of places.
