If they did voice acting, people would just complain about the voice actors they chose.

I can't give a modern Zelda 10/10 until they get some decent voice acting.

Id love voice acting but Link should always remain silent.

Well at least we finally got orchestrated music.

Maybe next game we'll finally get some proper voice acting.

I don't think the series needs voice acting, but Clancy Brown would make a great Ganondorf.

NINTENDO: Catching up to the rest of the games industry, one step at a time

I read Ganondorf was based on Christopher Lambert.

That makes even more hilarious that Lambert is a short skinny guy. =)

One of my friends brothers meet him at a dinner for some big charity even back in the day that GM sponsored.

Only 5 more years to go.

Joking aside, it's not just "because everyone else has it" (though that certainly part of it). Good voice acting can really improve a game. Make cutscenes more cinematic, and make gameplay much more engaging.

It was Koji Kondo who actually wanted have music with lyrics... so, those of us who want voices are in good company.

I agree with you Thundercrack. Simply saying "But people will complain" isn't a good excuse to avoid advancing the series. If this game pushes the RPG side of things as much as reviews seem to be saying, it is a very natural step.

Voice acting isn't a deal breaker, on account of it doesn't affect gameplay, which does sound like it has advanced. I mean, if lack of voice acting is the biggest complaint people have about the series, then I think Zelda is doing just fine.

Yeah, because in the middle of an awesome and powerful cut scene, what I would love more than anything is a text box to totally take me out of the experience.

I listened to the GameTrailers podcast, Invisible Walls, last night and the guy who runs the site completely tore the game apart.:csad: He pretty much made the game sound like it was a low quality, 5/10 game. He had no good things to say about it. The guy who I think is reviewing it (and has finished the game) didn't sound like he hated it but was disappointed with it. I have a feeling that once more reviews of the game come in, it's going to be divisive.

Im gettin this game later today. Im very excited

Seems like he will be in the minority.

Uh, I hate how Zelda is some kind of 'perfect formula'. I know we all have a fondness for Zelda and a lot of us have grown up playing them and loving them, but seriously, can we drop the fanboy blinders a little bit and perhaps be objective and critical for one second? Talking about where the franchise could or should go isn't taking anything away from the games that have come before, not in the slightest. Zelda fans are some of the touchiest fans around, from what I've noticed on these boards. Drop it a little bit, take a step back, and look at the franchise. I mean, some of the most interesting things in this new Zelda game are things no doubt that 5 years ago, people would have shaken their head about.

Where do we draw the line between tradition in formula and something that is genuinely stale/dated ?

Hah, dude, when did I even say I'm opposed to voice acting? I just said I don't care enough about it to make a huge deal out of it.

I think Wolvieboy is talking about the low Zelda review and how one might throw a hissy that "omg someone gave a Zelda a 5/10...blasphemy blah blah..." Yeah, no franchise is immune from a possibly low score. I'm not saying SS may be a 5/10, but there is a chance that a Zelda game actually could be bad, or that a player actually didn't care for it. I for one played OoT 3D and actually found myself liking OoT less afterwards.

Now for you guys who say your getting it today/tomorrow, where do you live? I thought in most English speaking countries the game didn't come out til the 20th?
