You guys get Tri Force Heroes? I was on the fence about it, but decided to splurge and got a copy. When the lag isn't rhino humping the fun the game is absolutely brilliant. It's pretty addicting, and a lot of the puzzles and things you have to accomplish within the dungeons can be really clever. I thought the stunted communications feature would be a detriment, but it actually adds to the challenge and a bit to the fun. Being able to just clearly state what the other player should do is really obvious and would make it boring. Oh and if any of you want to play some time my FC is: 1822-2177-3325

I picked it up, wasn't expecting much but am definitely impressed, the game is a blast, loads of fun, am doing it solo atm though, had bad luck with my groups this first day, from being in a game with a troll to being in a game with an idiot to being in a game with someone whose connection was awful. Decided to just do the Woodlands solo and then take another shot at team play. Still a lot of fun in solo though.

Yeah, I got it, but haven't had time to sit down and play it yet.

Getting a bad team makes the game hair pullingly frustrating, but when you get a good group the fun is unbelievable. I'm working towards getting that Samurai armor for Link right now. I'm finding solo too difficult so I'm slogging it out with online randoms.

The Legend of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes Should Not Be Played Alone. October 26, 2015 . 6:00pm

I don’t think that The Legend of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes is very fun at all when played alone. It’s functional, but that’s just about the kindest thing to be said about it.

I don’t think that The Legend of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes is very fun at all when played alone. It’s functional, but that’s just about the kindest thing to be said about it. Pre release circumstances forced me to play a fair bit of this game in single player and I wish I could have those hours of my life back.
Tri Force Heroes does not modify levels to suit the number of players available. This is a game with a set number of levels available and all are designed to be puzzling, challenging, and playful in turn when faced by three likeminded human players. When these levels are played solo, challenges that require three coordinated actions need to be input one at a time by switching rapidly between Links through touch screen icons. This makes the process of clearing levels less of a mad cap spelunking experience and more of a slow paced step by step methodical crawl instead.

And here’s what’s worse – Tri Force Heroes has a much heavier emphasis on traditional Zelda puzzle solving than past multiplayer experiments that leaned towards barely controlled chaos. I happen to prefer Zelda puzzles to Zelda themed mayhem in a vacuum, but one of the downsides to filling levels with puzzles is that you lose replayability. Once you figure out the solution to a puzzle, replaying that room will only ever be an experience of going through the motions. So not only is single player not very fun, but if you play a level first in single player it actually robs you of the delight that is figuring the level out with friends.

Not to mention the dynamics of playing a level with friends that you’ve already played alone. It would be wrong to just tell your friends all the solutions and give them instructions, because that ruins their fun. But waiting in silence for other people to catch up with you all the time isn’t really fun either. The way to enjoy this game is to go on an adventure together with your friends, and really that’s the only way to do it. I almost feel as though a single player mode shouldn’t have been included at all.

There is an upside to the time I spent in single player though – when playing with friends I don’t really get as much out of the audio/visual aspects of a game. Playing together means interaction with other people, not single minded focus on a screen. It’s almost a shame then how good Tri Force Heroes looks and sounds, because the presentation is absolutely up to Nintendo’s high first party standards.

The graphics and sound aren’t what you might expect from a Zelda game though. This is a profoundly goofy game, downright irreverent in fact. Zelda games have never been the most concerned with “lore” in the way most fantasy video game franchises are, and The Legend of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes straight up mocks the status quo that has defined past single player entries. There have been Kirby games with more on the line than there is in this game. This is Zelda without the gravitas. There’s no Ganondorf, no Hyrule, and the prophecy of a destined hero is so broad as to be a joke in itself (pointy ears, heroic sideburns, and hair parted to the side).

This distinctive tone is reflected in an absolutely delightful soundtrack featuring heavy use of a happy sounding accordion and some genuinely outlandish outfit designs for Link to don. Cross dressing is only the beginning. I don’t predict any tunes from this game showing up in Symphony of the Goddess any time soon (prove me wrong Nintendo!) but that doesn’t take away from the fact that the music fits the aesthetic of the graphics and tone of the story perfectly within the game itself.

Just because playing single player gave me an opportunity to appreciate the finer details of this game doesn’t redeem the mode though. If you want to play by yourself, play something else. I’ll write about multiplayer in an upcoming article.

October 29 eShop Update Includes Legend Of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes Demo. October 28, 2015 . 12:21pm

Everyone can access the Legend of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes demo after the October 29 Nintendo eShop update.

Prior to the launch of The Legend of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes, Nintendo sent out Nintendo eShop codes that a person could redeem for a free demo to enjoy on their Nintendo 3DS.

On October 29, that demo will be uploaded as part of the Nintendo eShop update for everyone to enjoy.

Nintendo has also announced three new online sessions for its The Legend of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes demo. While someone can play locally with two other people who also own the demo, they will be able to go online during specific times on October 30 – November 1 to play with strangers. The exact schedule is as follows.

It never quite finds the replayable gameplay loop it clearly desires, but Tri Force Heroes offers some decent Zelda action.

Twilight Princess HD confirmed at the direct. They seemed to have flipped the world back around correctly. :woot:

Release date for TP HD is March 4th, 2016, and it comes with the OST as a bonus for pre-ordering (was not specified if it was retailer exclusive or not). Also an amiibo fo Wolf Link and Midna is coming with the game in a bundle, probably be sold separately some time after? There was also mention of new features and gameplay altercations though nothing was specific:

Lord the first few months of this year are gonna be mean to my wallet.

Zelda Wii U was mentioned as coming 2016, but little footage was shown. A new character for Hyrule Warriors Legends, a female Link that was part of concept art called Linkle. Some people are also saying that she's actually Link's sister, but I'm not sure where that info came from. Her name is...Linkle:

They just had to tease us with that Zelda U footage, liked a lot of the games in the Direct, but I spent the entire thing hoping they'd show more Zelda U, my anticipation for that game knows no bounds.

That tease for Zelda U felt kinda perfect. We all kinda knew this wouldn't be about that, but it was nice to have a nod.

Just a heads up, TP HD is up on Best Buy and Amazon, only the amiibo bundle as of now, for $60. Case game will probably be $40, if I were to guess.

So, they went forward with Linkle. Cool. The dual crossbow is a surprising, awesome addition.

I read she's supposed to be Link's (twin?) sister.

Went through a fair bit of concept art apparently designing her.

They also had a cool valkyrie design for Zelda.

Can't get over how cool that Wolf Link amiibo is. Also, I wonder if Twilight Princess HD will have GC controls or Wii controls.

so as tronny just mentioned and I'm looking to see if there is extra info like video's as to the female link called Linkle this was mentioned before that they wanted to make a female l version link and said it was his sister to Siliconera. I still think the name Linka which is a real name (from captain planet would have been easier as a name ) but what ever.

Female Link-esque character named Linkle added.

Hyrule Warriors Legends will launch for 3DS in North America and Europe on March 25, 2016, Nintendo announced.

Also announced is Linkle, a new, playable girl character who lives in a small village filled with Cuccos. She wields dual crossbows and can take on enemies coming from every direction. She’ll kick an enemy when they’re down without losing grip on her crossbows. Her signature attack is a spin kick.

In Europe, Hyrule Warriors Legends will receive a limited edition including a compass:

I've read this as well, but I'm not sure where that part is coming from exactly. They revealed it as "female Link," and the original concept art for her was labeled the same. Not sure when/where it was said she was his sister and not an alternate version. It may be, but I just don't know where it was actually revealed at.
