The way it was presented really didn't strike me as fan service.
Eh, I just thought it was a little out of place, but I see your point it's not like they had her turn around and have a come hither look to Link. :hehe:

Well I guess the Great Fairy in the N64 era would come close, but the less said the better.:oldrazz:

I was so innocent as a kid not knowing how "frivolous" the great fairy was.

Helluva laugh when i replayed oot recently. :funny:

Pre-ordered my copy! I'm going to spend all weekend playing this.

any speculation as to where BotW lands on the timeline?

Hmm... on the child timeline or the adult timeline? hah! I don't know if it's gonna be that simple.

I like the theory that it takes place after Adventure of Link on NES. So it's the real "Zelda III" so to speak.

The only real evidence to back this up is how degraded the kingdom of Hyrule is. And in the original NES games the kingdom was basically already reclaimed by nature with very little actual architecture or civilization.

wait, it's been confirmed BOTW is part of the OOT timeline??

It has a 3GB install on the Wii U via a physical copy, not the Switch.

SlackBrian is right. My mistake. And now I am annoyed. :argh:

Yeah, mandatory installs are really rare on the Wii U. I think only Xenoblade had a big patch that was designed to cut down load times. Generally Wii U games don't require it.

ah, so the retail Switch copy will NOT require a mandatory install. yes??

Correct. No install on the Switch. The install on the Wii U is similar to the one for Xenoblade. It's to help with load times with the enormous open world.

The differences between the Switch and Wii U versions are relatively minor, but they're enough to make me happy I'm getting the Switch version.

Same. Though the changes aren't extreme I still think the Switch is gonna be the way to play this game.

As long as it doesn't have noticeable drops when there's a lot of action on the screen, that's probably fine. A great number of PS4 or Xbox One games run fine at 30fps. Like Arkham Knight, which only really dipped when **** got cray-cray.
