How does where he lives factor into which U.S. City is closer to Canada?
He stated that one of the reasons he and his father chose New England was it's proximity to where he lived, the other reason was the the "England" in New England.

The Browns have a big fanbase. They're the most loyal fans around
Yes, loyal to the Browns, when the Browns jumped ship, the fans were irate as hell. Only got calmed down when they got their team back. You still probably don't want to be a Ravens fan in Cleveland. Or for that matter a Colts fan in Baltimore.

Each city got a team back, they need to get over it, already.

At least Cleveland didnt have to wait nearly as long as Baltimore did. Then again, recreating the Browns has probably been a mistake. But then again, people from Cleveland are just bitter losers anyway....

Congrats to the Giants. It's kind of funny how Dodgers were primed to be in the WS in the past two seasons by making it to the NLCS both years, and it turns out that Giants would become the World Champions instead.

Let's nuke Cleveland

Put them out of their misery :yay:

I have some distant family there, so no. And I been there once.

Marlins got playoffs in 2011. Or 2012. One of those two years. I can sense it. Even if Uggla isn't a Marlin. As long as the pitching for SP and BP is there and does what it should...the lineup should do enough to win games.

You said the same thing before this season

They'll fire sell and continue to compete with the Mets and Nationals for last in the NL East

Should have made the playoffs this year. But the Bull pen sucked. Like 25 blown saves sucked.

Marlins won't fire sell. They are getting a new stadium. They aren't the Pirates. Although Uggla is asking for way too much. He wants 5 yr/50 million. Marlins offer was 3 yr/24 million. Marlins may up it to 4 yrs/???. Uggla needs to get over himself and just sign. I've read how it seems Uggla wants to be with his BFF Cody in SanFran though...at least that is what fans say on another board. Also he is 31...he is not worth a 5 yr deal. 4 years fine, not 5. If he doesn't want want anything less than 5/50...let him go and buy out Stanton's abr years.

It's pretty remarkable. Willie Mays never won in San Francisco. Juan Marichal, Orlando Cepeda, Willie McCovey, Barry Bonds never won one. It took some really good, young pitching and a lineup of complimentary players to finally win one.

I think Giants actually won WS because they didn't have a big, polarizing figure like Berry Bond. The team was able to find a new playmaker every night, instead of relying on any particular player. Maybe that's why they were able to step up when they needed in the series against Rangers.

I have a feeling all those guys are going to get a ring for all they have done for the franchise.

The owner kept saying that this was for the greats and those who preceded this team

They need to make sure they can retain Hanley and keep that pitching intact...Forget Uggla, invest in pitching and defense.

Fact: The Giants are a perfect example and the Marlins back in 2003

Hanley is following his Dominican counterparts and acting out to leave the team. He is gone IMO. The only reason they put up with his **** is because he's a star and they need him to sell tickets for the new stadium.

They should see if they can convince him or trade him for another star.

Yeah...no need to trade Hanley. Even though he is a little *expletive* at times. Although...this team should keep Lomo in slomo and the 2nd coming of MLB long term. That is Morrison and stanton btw...

It's going to be hard to convince him when a team like lets say the Yankees can offer him double even triple what the Marlins can *ahem* excuse me are willing to pay him.

I'd do a ridiculous package for Hanley...Montero, Nunez, Joba, picks +

Is it bad to think the following isn't a bad idea?

Let Hanley and Uggla go...to clear room to sign Cliff Lee for a 5 year deal? And in same time frame lock up logan Morrison and mike Stanton long term?

JJ
Lee
Nolasco
Ani Sanchez.

That starting 4 rotation is awesome.

Yes, because the Marlins are all about handing out 100 million+ contracts.
