I thought the film was great. Easily one of Marvels top five best films for me.
The CGI de-ageing of Michael Douglas in the prologue was fantastic. The technology has come on leaps and bounds since X3 and Tron Legacy. It would probably be way too expensive to de-age Douglas for a whole movie though.
Did former Shield defence chief turned mercenary Mitch Carson get away with the Pym particles?
I saw Carson grab them but we didn't see him leave the building before it blew up.
I really don't like the character Paxton. I was hoping that Yellowjacket will kill him in the end.
And it's so weird. Because at the beginning, Paxton was such a jerk. But at the end, he suddenly becomes a nice guy??
Paxton isn't a bad guy he just doesn't like Scott.
Lang won Paxton over. Paxton thought Scott was a scumbag to begin with but seeing him risk his life for his daughter probably made him realize Scott wasn't such a bad guy.
The story is quite weak. They never explained why Hank couldn't wear the Ant suit and need Scott to wear it.
And why does Hank choose Scott to be the new Ant-Man? Hank says Scott is the only guy that he can rely on now.
Can't Hank just find other guys to wear the Ant suit and train them?
They did explain why Hank can't wear the suit. Prolonged exposure to Pym particles messes with your mind. Hank said he shrunk too many times over the years to risk putting back on the suit and we saw how crazy it had made Cross.
Scott is a highly skilled cat burglar which is why they needed him for the heist. Hank also saw some of himself in Scott which is probably partly why he choose him.
I'm wondering if they're planning to explore the young Hank Pym's adventure in future movies... It would be cool if the character appears in Agent Carter since it's obvious they know each other.
Agent Carter would need to make a big time jump a few decades to feature Hank because the show currently takes place in the 1940's and Hank is a toddler in that period.
I was quite relieved when Hank Pym didn't have some kind of "villain-the-whole-time" twist. I was worried that that I was gonna happen.
I remember tying to convince people that wouldn't happen because it made no sense but people seemed adamant it would happen for some bizarre reason.
So what was the easter egg in the quantum realm supposed to be? I didn't catch it.
You can see Janet flash a couple times in the sequence.
The whole quantum realm also connects to what Feige said about magic being a science that can be manipulated like Quantum string theory. The other realms can be accessed by guys like Doctor Strange.
Now who was the asian girl that Falcon was talking to at the end?
Just some reporter. I don't think she is supposed to be a character from the comics.
