Ant-Man Official Ant-Man Spoiler Discussion Thread

I have 2 questions for teh people who already saw the movie:

1 - is there a flashback to Janet and Hank disabling the missile, or Hank just explains what happened and no images of it are shown ?

2 - is Janet's Wasp suit exactly like Hope's or are there some differences ?

I wonder if that will come back up in Civil War...most likely Ant Man 2 if it happens.

maybe, and maybe he gives the particles to another H.Y.D.R.A. agent called Eric O'Grady ...

i wonder if all this "Carson takes the Pym Particles" thing is going to play into Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 3...

He explains it whilst a flashback plays. You see the mission

Very different. Hope's is a WIP, so not finished, but it resembles the modern gold and black Wasp costume - Janet's is basically a female version of the Ant-Man suit, resembling her classic look.

cool about the flashback. I hope we get more young Pym.

Sorry if I missed this..but someone please explain a little bit...the microverse? Physically..what does it LOOK like? well technically I assume it wouldn't "look" like anything. But do we see energy and atoms, and what the quantum world may actually "look" like"? Or is it more blocky and polygon-y

Very trippy... It's really hard to explain because it constantly changes as he shrinks. Lots of bending of light, weird shapes, other-worldly looks

Super trippy, and yest oh so hard to explain, I'd imagine some scientists may recognize more visuals :p

There were definitely microbes and stuff as he began to shrink, but then everything just got weird. Very trippy

I like how Janet's helmet resembled her comic version.

It seemed like he was travelling through layer and layer of subatomic realms.

We see atoms, neutrons, bacteria and so on.

The building blocks on matter and the entire universe.

People say Ant-Man's powers suck but the guy can shrink you down to a sub atomic dimension and leave you there. The hulk couldn't punch his way out of that situation and Cap can't solve save himself by throwing a shield.

Basically you need to have magic abilities to counter that. Which I think we're gonna see in the next phase with quite a few people.

This movie really showed how freaking powerful Ant Man really can be, Stark better create a special suit that protects him from Ant man getting into the creases lol and as we saw....that may not be enough..

Those ants with the electric gizmos Pym built could probably disable Tony's armour.

It is also crazy how Pym was almost all seeing. Pym used those ants to spy on everything going on in Scott's life.

Plus, remember when those ants shrunk down the C4 and brought it into the place and then grew it back to normal size? That's pretty scary!!

They should had carson get half him face burned off like in the comics.

I didn't see the guy with the ten rings neck tattoo but other people have said he was in the movie.

Oh fantastic!!

So you would say it's quite different than some of the exotic landscapes of "dimensions" we've seen of the MCU?

It's very different. Most unique environment in the MCU yet, easily

If Janet disappeared into the microverse in South America wouldn't she still be stuck in the microverse around South America or is the microverse all connected so it wouldn't really matter where she went missing, so they could always go in anywhere on earth to retrieve her or her body or whatever may be?

Editing wise it would have made more sense to put the scene where Cross successfully shrinks the sheep after Lang's training montage. If Cross was successful then why did he take so long to give Hydra the formula? Yes he was testing it on himself too but it seemed like a disconnect.

I think the implication in the comics is there is multiple entry points into the same micro verse, so I'd assume that a similar concept applies here. The fact it transcends time and physics and everything could suggest that the micro verse (or 'quantum realm') exists everywhere at once or something, so that wherever you entered it you'd be within the same area

The fact it is so trippy and everything suggests to me it wouldn't follow basic logic as we understand it, so by going subatomic it's entirely possible everyone would end up in the same microverse

I'm sure there's a more scientific way of saying what I'm trying to say, but yeah

My sisters brought it up, but I think a good description of the Microverse sequence is like what happened after Cooper dove into the singularity in Interstellar, only with trippier imagery. They even got the thing where his fate was tied into his daughter and the involvement of a bookcase (well, that last part was probably stretching :)).
