Hawkeye being confirmed might be like when General Zod and Brainiac were confirmed for Superman Returns.

so I guess that never was confirmed but I remember at the time that Favreau said both Hawkeye and Black Widow were gonna have big roles in IM2. guess they decided against it.

The brief appearances and quick lines in IM2 work pretty good, so I hope they stick with that for his future appearances.

War Machine and Black Widoow need only be in the Avengers movie in cameo or reference form. And folks can probably quit counting them as members in the first film. I saw ScarJo on one of the morning tv shows yesterday. When asked when we might see her character again, she said she didn't know. Possibly Iron Man 3 or the Avengers, she hadn't heard anything yet. Now you know if she was in fact one of the Avengers, which starts shooting next Febuary, she would be well aware of it. And talking about it.
I need to hear me some Hank and Jan news! Hank needs to already be Giant Man in Avengers. With mentions and flashbacks of his Ant Man past.
So the Ant Man movie that's coming out after the Avengers can show his 'Ant' origin and story. Whith him becoming Giant Man and passing on the Ant mantle to Scott Lange.

Kevin Pennington signed on to Avengers...his role is being kept quiet but here are some hints

He is signed with Marvel Studios, NOT Fox, Sony or any other film studio.

- He will not appear as the new Spider-Man or as a member of X-Men First Class.

- Plans are for his character to be in Avengers films and other team-related films.

- He will be a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent, but also a fan favorite character from the comics (the character's origin may be changed to fit the movie, and may never have been in S.H.I.E.L.D. or Avenger in the comics)
