Only in a Nolan fanboys mind is 94 vs 89 "trashing". Try again.

Not surprising though the way you waltz in insulting people. You act just like one.

It trashes it everytime it´s mentioned in a list of All-Time greats and TWS is not. :cwink:

Why, just because his opinion isn't the same as yours? :whatever:

I have this feeling too. I´ve seen an handful of folks in this forum mentioning "trolling" when someone says they don´t like the same stuff as they do. I don´t understand why. Is this a "discussion forum" or an "agreement forum"? I´ve seen so many people in this forum completely trashing movies i like. Maybe they´re trolling.

Too bad for you TDK has zero relevance in a thread discussing best cbm's of 2014.

But if you ever manage to think up a decent defense of ASM2 feel free to try again.

I´ve already thought of one and i´ve already presented it. Your best answer was "it has 54% on rotten tomatoes".

What about this: We lock this thread, because we aren´t allowed to have an opinion. If we wanna decide wich movie is the best, we just look at the rotten tomatoes score.

Because there's a fine line between stating an opinion and coming off as an arrogant jerk. I'll let people decide where this quote lies:

Yeah, for sure. The friendship between Captain America and a shockingly underdeveloped and forgetable character was very emotional...NOT.

BTW, GOTG´s humour was so dumb and juvenile that i was shocked that so many people loved it. People are truly content with mediocrity. For some reason, movies with cheesy one liners and characters acting as dumb as they can be are viewed as "great humour". I guess anything sounds funnier when is coming out of the mouth of a CB character, even if it´s the kind of easy and predictable humour you can find on internet forums on a daily basis. That´s the only explanation can find.

Gotta love these types that jump at the chance to insult peoples intelligence or taste then cry foul and act all hurt when called on it. Classy as always.

You know, you´re insulting me. Are you allowed to insult people in this forum? I didn´t insult you, so i guess that even with my arrogance i´m still more classy than you.

Btw, since you´re such a respectful fella and i´m such an arrogant jerk, let´s examine some of your posts:

TDW may have been a flawed film, but Green Lantern was pure crap.

Exactly the acting was pure crap in this movie.

LMAO @ Nolan directing Spidey! Seriously I think the people that come up with that crap are probably wearing TDK pajamas in front of their computers when they type that.

Blahblahblah... you've repeated the same crap how many times already?

Eh, I think The Avengers is better. TDKR just became a dumb movie to me after a while

I predict good word of mouth. The people that love Transformers will love this, its great, dumb action and it's done well.

So, i´m an arrogant jerk, as opposed to who? To you?

Oh, hypocrisy is such a sweet thing...

To say "GotG level of humor is juvenile", that's an opinion, and I kinda agree with this.
But to say "people are content with mediocrity" comes out as a sort of an attack and/or trolling.

Well, that´s just an opinion too. I do think people are content with mediocrity. And as i exposed in my previous post, that´s actually not any different than what some people who attack me do.

I still think Captain America: The Winter Soldier is my favorite CBM of 2014.
The connection between Steve & Bucky might not be appealing to some, at least it wasn't a rushed montage of awkward meeting followed by laughter and hugs with the "Hey man, long time no see, old best friend" kind of speech. Bucky didn't even act as Cap's old friend for a moment. Sans a couple of flashbacks.

I didn't say you were an arrogant jerk, I said what you wrote sounded arrogant. You seem to want to turn everything into a Marvel vs. DC argument.

Bingo!

Oh, ok. So, if i said to you "you come off as a dumb person", you wouldn´t really take that as an insult, right? I bet it would be totally ok with you.

Oh, and you didn´t answer how was what i said so different from what you say in the quotes i posted from you.

Can we at least agree you come off as much as an arrogant jerk as me and you also just got completely Owned? It´s ok. Everybody gets owned once in a while.

But next time. instead of attacking my behaviour, wich is really not any different than yours, you should just attack my argument. Because that´s really the premise of a discussion forum, you know? People come here, they discuss things, they disagree, they give opinions on the subject, etc.

First off, Bucky was an already established character from the first film, Captain America: The First Avenger. Steve has a strong history with Bucky, the film didn't go fully into it but it was touched upon and his death shock Steve as he felt responsible for it. (This was all explored in the first film in dialogue by Steve with Peggy. and even touched upon in The Winter Soldier early on in the film.)

Futhermore Bucky doesn't remember his past and has been reprogrammed against his will into The Winter Soldier (a deadly version of Cap's Super Soldier ) adds to the story.

TWS was basically a sequel to TFA, and partly The Avengers in terms of Cap's story arc so is wasn't overly complicated to follow along.

Plus for comic book fans, this was a dream come true a visual delight to see an adaptation of Ed Brubake's version of The Winter Soldier come to life on the big screen.

The emotional fight sequences between Rogers vs. Bucky was awesome. Added to the fact it showcased Cap's badassry in combat.

Exactly. That´s why the character was completely forgetable and i didn´t care about him at all. It takes more than a character who appears for more than a brief moment to make me care.

And again, just the fact that i had to explain to two friends who "Bucky" was, just shows how not very important the character was in the first movie. I certainly didn´t have to explain to anyone who Gwen Stacy was.

Plus, even if i wanted, i couldn´t really say there is anything interesting in either the character "Bucky" or the actor who plays it. Marvel really needs to do a better job with some of their characters, especially the villains.

Juvenile humor in GOTG? Sure, Starlord is a manchild played by Burt Macklin haha. It was awesome. That Jackson Pollock line in GOTG was one of the funniest jokes in movies this year. And that drunk Raccoon was one of the saddest. :csad:

GOTG was great entertainment, it had a lil bit of everything and more style, attitude, energy and risks then anything else in the mainstream imo. Still my fav out of the big three this year. But I have been watching them all back to back since the digital release and have not stopped.

Even if Ultron is as good as I hope it to be, I don't think all the Marvel films this year will be able to compete with 2014's.

She a love interest of course she going to have more detail because she is essential the main link the the main character added to the fact they shoved her importants in our faces in the first film by webb and again in this ASM2.

So the opinions of established film critics are irrelevant and have no place in a discussion. Gotcha.
A place in the discussion sure, but they shouldn't be spouted off as if they're fact or like they could change fans' opinions. At the end of the day, film critics have their own opinions and they're no more important or relevant than yours, mine, or anyone else's.

What about the friendship between Harry and Spider-Man in the first Raimi movie? Do you think anyone who watches SM2 won´t remember Harry from the first movie?

What i´m trying to say is: There are way better forms of portraying a friendship than what we saw in TFA. Marvel wanted us to feel something because of their relationship, but they didn´t really give us much of a relationship in the first movie. It´s not like we go "oh yeah, Captain´s best friend, they were so close, omg, this is so sad".

Comic book readers and fanboys are very invested in all this, so to them it probably didn´t really matter, but for the casual moviegoer i don´t think Marvel did that good of a job establishing the importance of Bucky and developing his character. I mean, for me to care for a character, that character has to give me a strong reason. Bucky didn´t.

I hope you can at least understand why i say Bucky didn´t make any type of impact in the first movie. I think it´s difficult to disagree that this whole friendship thing could have been way better handled. The same goes for the villain The Winter Soldier. And lets not even get into Captain´s romantic interest. Ok, Steve, you lost a date with an hot girl you barely knew and only wanted to go out with after you became also super hot. Not exactly the most heartbreaking thing, in my not humble opinion.

There's usually a consensus between CB fans, GA and critics when it comes to CBMs. Even on a messageboard like this, there's usually the upper tier of CBMs. (Spider-Man 2, TWS, DOFP, TDK, Avengers, GOTG, Superman 2, etc.)

You know what movie isn't grouped with those? TASM2.

You know who doesn't care about the consensus between fanboys, GA, and critics? Me. :funny:

No matter how much people try to change my opinion on it, it's not gonna happen. It's my opinion for a reason. I loved almost everything about the movie and prefer it over plenty of films the majority loves.
