they shouldn't be spouted off as if they're fact

Guess what? It's a FACT that barely half of the RT reviews liked ASM2. That's no opinion. You can check the site yourself.

If anyone in this thread is "spouting off" as if their opinion is fact it's your buddy Killer. Why don't you have a chat with him about that?

Yeah, because everytime you make a statement you make sure to let everyone know that it´s just your opinion. I wonder what makes your posts seem less "factual" than mine.

I don´t think you´re very self-aware.

That's ok. I don't think you're capable of posting without insulting people. Good luck with that.

That was exactly my point.. I KNOW that plenty of the critics disliked the film. I just don't care. I know that I loved the movie and that's what matters. I don't let other people's thoughts influence my own opinions.

As for Killer, I thought it was pretty clear that he was simply explaining his own thoughts on the movies. Feel free to disagree with him, but it didn't seem like he was saying that he was 100% right about everything, he was just backing up his opinions.

What? that? That´s not really an insult. It´s just a logic observation.

Let me just quote you, in order to demonstrate what an insult is:

I'm itching to start the 'Evangaline Lilly is The Wasp!' thread but ARGH! they won't confirm! Some jerk is going to beat me to it, I know it! :cmad:

You can be a jerk and still post on this site with no problem. :yay:

Why don't you carry your dumb ass back to the Green Lantern boards if all you're going to do here is try and stir ****?

Probably some Nolanite drone. Im a fan of Nolan myself, but the ones who are obviously furious over all the Avengers acclaim/coverage/boxoffice are a special kind of *****ebag and tedious as ****. ...

LOL what a choad. Ignore this idiot.

See? You´re much better at it than me.

I don't think you're capable of posting without insulting people. Good luck with that.

I have this feeling too. I´ve seen an handful of folks in this forum mentioning "trolling" when someone says they don´t like the same stuff as they do. I don´t understand why. Is this a "discussion forum" or an "agreement forum"? I´ve seen so many people in this forum completely trashing movies i like. Maybe they´re trolling.

There's discussing things you disagree on, and then there's being condescending and insufferable. You seem to be doing much more of the latter.

What "i´m doing" is really no different than what the people that point the finger at me do in this forum. And i already used "Tony_Stark" and "Whyskey_Tango" to demonstrate my point. Should i use you too?

People who point out the way i express myself are generally not very happy with my opinions, so they attack me in order to try to invalidate what i say instead of actually presenting a counter-argument capable of doing so, like they should.

I´m here to discuss these movies, but it seems a lot of people are here to discuss me. I guess i´m more interesting than Captain America.

Oh boy. This is going to be fun! :yay:

Let me just quote you, in order to demonstrate what an insult is:

Yes, let's do that! Since you obviously put a lot of effort into this, let us examine these a little more closely, shall we?

I'm itching to start the 'Evangaline Lilly is The Wasp!' thread but ARGH! they won't confirm! Some jerk is going to beat me to it, I know it! :cmad:

Pretty much anyone with rudimentary reading comprehension should realize this was nothing more than a good natured jab at the rest of the board. Had you, y'know, actually read the thread in question you might have realized that, but in your hurry to give me the what for I'm sure a little detail like that must have slipped your mind. You should have a job at Fox News with spin like that. FAIL

You can be a jerk and still post on this site with no problem. :yay:

Not my post. That was written by Kelly, a moderator around these parts. See? FAIL

Why don't you carry your dumb ass back to the Green Lantern boards if all you're going to do here is try and stir ****?

Got me there. I have never claimed to be infallible, and that post was directed at known troll and long banned user S.A.A.D., who annoyed a great many people during his time here. You can ask any of the regulars about him. Also I believe I did score an infraction for that one, and rightfully so.

But I'm feeling generous, and a little sad for you at this point. I'll give you that one. PASS

Probably some Nolanite drone. Im a fan of Nolan myself, but the ones who are obviously furious over all the Avengers acclaim/coverage/boxoffice are a special kind of *****ebag and tedious as ****.

Once again, not my post. Your batting average is looking dismal, my little friend. FAIL

LOL what a choad. Ignore this idiot.

Not quite. Discussing a 'review" by an IMDB user, not directed at anyone involved in said discussion or even on this site. FAIL

By the way, if you don't know what IMDB is, it's where you'll likely end up posting after your poor attitude gets you banned from here.

See? You´re much better at it than me.

Better at what? Reading comprehension? Understanding context? Basic research skills?

I won't argue. :)

Have a nice day, slick.

Anyway, now that that bit of terminal unpleasantness is dealt with, this thread can get back on topic. Sorry for the derail, folks.

I still stand by my vote of Cap 2. Both Guardians and Cap were top-notch movies, but I think TWS hits a lot of high points for me and was much better than I was expecting. Initially I was pretty fearful and had a lot of trepidations about how they would handle the winter soldier storyline, but they did a great job. I especially loved the dismantling of SHIELD. It's been so long that I can't really remember the trailers but I can't recall whether or not the bit about SHIELD falling apart was ever shown in the pre-release stuff; I don't think it was because it really caught me off guard once the movie came around and I loved it.
I also think seeing Cap's improved fighting style was a natural story progression that they handled with subtly; he had clearly been training in the two years we haven't seen him and it shows through quite well.
Like I said it's neck and neck between that and Guardians, which I also really enjoyed, but more times than not I'm watching Cap on blu-ray than guardians.

The luster has worn off Guardians cutesy nature for me a bit. I really like the film, but I don't love it.

Cap 2 on the other hand... last year I called it the best superhero film ever made and I still feel pretty comfortable with that.

Your mileage may vary, of course.

I don't know if I'd call it the best ever made but it's definitely in the upper echelon.
Guardians luster has worn off for me as well, that's a good way to put it. Still say it's one of the best in the MCU though.

A movie with poor character development, uneven script and a subpar villain is hardly the best CB movie ever made.

If I were to generate a Top 5 right now, without giving much thought to it, and in no particular order:

Cap 2
Incredibles
Batman Begins
Watchmen
Um... can I get away with lumping Superman and Superman II together? Does The Crow count as a superhero?

It's hard. Once I'm out of the Top 5 it gets a lot easier. Eliminating the over-rated TDK from contention helps also.

That's another list that's getting harder. I'd put Cap 2 and IM3 ahead of Guardians for sure. Probably Avengers as well.

I just loved the fun quirky nature of GoTG, it was a breath of fresh air. I'd rate TWS and GoTG close, but I'm edging toward GoTG, only because it completely blew away my expectations, where I knew TWS was good, and I loved the way it was filmed and the edgy feel.

It's close for me but if I had to rank the films this year it would be...

1A) GoTG
1B) CA:TWS
2) Big Hero 6
3) X-men DOFP

TASM2 was my biggest disappointment. I thought it would be a notch up from TASM, and instead ended up being far worse. It's not completely terrible, but for me it's so flawed, I have a hard time watching it. Even though Spider-man 3 was uneven, corny and disappointing, I think it's a better movie than TASM2, even though I far prefer Garfield's performance to Maguire's in those films.

Haven't seen Big Hero 6 yet. Looking forward to it though.

Amazing 2 was such a stain that it retroactively fouled the first one for me. It somehow managed to taint the entire series. It even killed what interest I had in Sinister Six.

Spidey deserves better. WAY better.

From what I've seen:

1. Captain America: The Winter Soldier
2. X-Men: Days of Future Past
3. The Amazing Spider-Man 2

I just finished watching Gardens of the galaxy for the first time tonight a few minutes ago. The characters are great and I felt more emotion form the movie then I did form either DOFP or Cap2 and most of the humor was great. The groot since and also the part when star load saves Gamora where both pretty emotional. Now with the said I have to say the movie while good is overrated has the story was kind of week and I found parts of the last 40 minutes or so kind of dragging on at times. where asm2 has the best last 1/3 of any CBM ever!

I stick with asm2 has the best CBM of 2014. I don't get the hate for asm2 at all and I never real. I have never disagreed with reviews for a movie has much has I do with asm2. The movie had like 5 minutes out of like 130 minutes that where chessy that is not much and not enough to make a movie chessy. The chicken since in DOFP was far more chessy then any thing in asm2. Asm2 has so much to like and so little not to like. One of the best soundtracks I have ever heard in a movie, best CBM customer ever, the second best action scence in a CBM ever with the power plant fight behind only sm2 train fight, a sm that acts like sm for the first time ever in a movie made me think of the 90's cartoon yet people think it is chessy or annoying witch means people don't really want sm to act like sm in a sm movie.

People say peter is just a jerk just because he acts like a teenager. Garfield who just owns the rule like only RDJ has in a CBM when it comes to the hero. Now while harry and peter could have had more screen time when it comes to harry has a person and becoming the goblin it was handle very very while has you could see some of harry's bad side before he even becomes goblin and with being set up by oscrop. Electro looked great and was intimidating but yes he could have had a better motivation. The biggest problem with this movie is the lack of uncle ben but that is the only majore problem with the movie ever thing else is either not a problem or a nick pick. No CBM has ever made me carry for the charaters and made me fell has emotional has asm2 did just a great great movie that should have made 1 billion and got like a 90 RT score.

I'd say top 10 definitely but not top 5. Top 5 for me is TDK, Spider-Man 2, DOFP, GOTG, and X-Men 2. I'd probably rank TWS 6th spot.

Snap. As flawed as Spider-Man 3 is, it is better than TASM 2, which is just an awful mess of a movie, and by far the worst of the Spidey movies, IMO.

It is so gratifying to see it get such a weak reception from fans, critics, and even box office. The best thing that can come out of it is it causes Spidey to be handed over to Marvel.

I know this may come as a shock to you.....but people can have....AND....they can post.....OPINIONS that you do not share. It's a wild and crazy world out there....go explore it.

I have a feeling that Killer is not long for this SHH! world...

I had a ton of problems with the movie. The Harry/Peter friendship came out of nowhere, and his motivations for becoming the goblin and killing Gwen were paper thin. Also the goblin looked ridiculous; I thought they'd improve upon the goblin we got in SM1 but it was a huge step backwards. Electro was also incredibly cheesy with little to no motivation; I didn't buy his reasons for hating Spider-man. I couldn't tell if he was supposed to be a sympathetic character, a psychotic man unhinged that we are suppose to fear, or a mix of both.
In a lot of ways this was SM3 all over again; stuffed to the brim with stories and ideas and villains, with no real clear direction. You can tell from how many deleted scenes they had and how many unnecessary characters were there that there wasn't a solid direction for the movie to take.
The best parts of the movie were the Peter and Gwen scenes but that can only do so much to make up for the rest of the movie. The more I watch it the worse it gets.

And they can debate and counter-argue them, wich is basically what pretty much everybody in this forum do, if you care to pay attention. I just don´t see them receiving "warnings" for doing it. I guess it has a lot to do with what movie you critique. I´ve come to the conclusion that you can´t "safely" critique any movie in this forum. Only some...

If i say that GL is a piece of garbage, nobody panics, because it´s all part of the plan. But if i say one small less favorable thing about TWS, well then everybody loses their minds!
