Finally finished with Bendis DD Ultimate Collection volume 2! What an epic of epicness! DD becoming the Kingpin was just jaw dropping!

I read Daredevil to actually read about Daredevil. Call me crazy, but how does Black Panther taking over the title entice me at all to want to keep reading it?

True. But, they are changing the title to "Black Panther: Man Without Fear" so at least they aren't trying to trick you.

I'm a little concerned for how the fate of my favorite character is being handled

I'm not really feeling the possession of Matt by "The Beast" or whatever the hell it is. I liked the idea of Matt being so beat up emotionally by Karen's death, Milla's breakdown, ect that it caused him to go down this dark path. I prefer the more human route than this mystical one. I'm kinda surprised Diggle went this way.....

Sadly I'm disappointed by this whole event. I was really really looking forward to this. At this point I lost track to such a degree I wasn't sure if it was over.

I'm with you. I kinda lost interest when I found out Matt was possessed.

I feel like Shadowland in general has been a very quiet event. After the first issue, there's been barely any press or hype for it at all. I think we can all agree that this was a massive letdown of an event. Diggle had SO much potential to play with, with DD being the leader of the Hand and he chose to do this. I kinda feel bad for him, cause i feel like this event didnt go as he planned it to in a way but oh well.....bring on Black Panther! lol

Shadowland has been (excuse me for the lack of a better word) overshadowed by the Avengers relaunch/Heroic Age.

The possession isn't what really bothered me, I'm not fond of it, but it just seems kinda jumbled after issue 2. DD is the only title I regularly read... I just think it's a ploy get some Panther readers. The DD title was doing fine, now they F'd it up just to replace him with the Panther????

I don't get it. It's not even that entertaining of a story. I would have lived with the results if that were the case.!

I am absolutely BAFFLED as to how they thought Billy Tan would be a suitable fit for a Daredevil story. More than anything, his art pulls me out of the story because his style doesnt fit DD at all. DD needs artists like Lark and Maleev and De La Torre who bring a dark, noir-type vibe. Billy Tan is way too "superhero-y" for DD. I think if they had a better artist, Shadowland would have at least looked better.

...huh...so....how about that Shadowland eh? Maaaaaaan let down issue.

Man i tell you, there has been absolutely NO buzz surrounding this book. I didnt even know the final issue came out today. Poor Diggle, what a failed experiment...

That's what sucks! It COULD HAVE BEEN SOOOO GOOD! IT had a great start and then it just started going nowhere. I share this sentiment with many readers, but I've seen the consensus say things would have been better if they didn't randomly inject this whole possessed by a demon angle , but rather, he had just realistically gone of the deep end after so much garbage tossed at him. It also just was randomly and quickly resolved in this issue. The interaction with Ghost Rider made me head butt my alternate dimensional self with excessive force, I think I may have caused a domino effect of horrible expectations.

I'm anxious to see where they go with the character from here. The ending didn't bother me as much as I thought it would, but it still should have been better.

That book was dreadful, one of the worst jobs of execution I've ever read. I'm totally shocked by Diggle. I loved his Hellblazer run and his stuff on T-Bolts was entertaining. I'm just totally dumbfounded by how bad Shadowland ended.

Part of what hurt Shadowland alot in my opinion was the lack of internal monologue from Matt. DD has always been a very personal book, like Spider-man, the character is at his best when we can hear his thoughts and feel his anxiety and struggles. We got NONE of that in Shadowland, therefore it didnt feel like it was about Matt. I get what Diggle was trying to go for, he was trying to show that the Hand was just too much for any man to handle, but man it would have been a MUCH better story if DD, somehow, someway was able to use the good in him to convert the Hand into a force of good. Thats what i was hoping would happen from the moment he became the leader. It would have been a fresh angle for both DD AND the Hand but oh well....what a missed opportunity man. I would LOVE to hear Diggle's feedback on all this. He's been very quiet about it.

Exactly! Prior to Shadowland's first issue, I was already thinking, "Oh, so this basically going to be Green Lantern: Emerald Twilight, only with ninjas instead of aliens?'" So on top of Diggle having the hero kill his arch-nemesis (Daredevil kills Bullseye while Hal Jordan killed Sinestro) and having the other heroes try to team up to stop him (the street level heroes go against Daredevil while the Justice League went against Hal) he then does the whole "the hero really was possessed by an evil entity so therefore he's not really responsible for his actions" (Daredevil possessed by "The Beast" while Hal possessed by Parallax). At least Matt didn't actually die, thank goodness.

What a waste of enormous potential. DD leading the Hand had such awesome story potential, it could have gone in so many directions and Diggle chose to do this BS? There must have been editorial interference cuz i refuse to believe this is what Diggle wanted to do with the story.

Yea, that's eerily similar dude. Oh yea, speaking of Shadowland, I've been out of the loop for a bit, but do we know why T'Challa is in Hell's kitchen yet? It's still a bizarre move to me.

Nope, he just simply popped up in Daredevil's book, Luke Cage and Iron Fist asked him what the hell he was doing there, and he was like all "This is my neighborhood now!"

Cuz it will be far, FAR better than anything Daredevil related since Diggle got the book.

But the only thing that has sucked on Diggle's run on Daredevil is half of Shadowland.
