"Since most of Gage’s series deal with his title characters working together, and Spider-Man has never revealed his secret identity to the X-Men, most of Peter Parker’s appearances in “X-Men/Spider-Man” will be in costume. “There won't be a lot of Pete in these issues. In fact, he won't show up at all in issue #3 -- that's Ben Reilly all the way!” Gage confirmed. “But we do get some out-of-costume Parker moments in #1, along with Gwen Stacy, Mary Jane, Harry Osborn and Flash Thompson, as they and the original X-Men (in their civilian clothes) all wind up at the Coffee Bean--and hijinks ensue!”

Oh my God... Short of an actual resurrection, this is beyond awesome! I'm literally in a state of shock!

A few things we can do to make sure this isn't a one-off...


Flood Christos Gage personally with letters thanking him for writing a Ben Reilly story... and send positive letters to Marvel about the prospect of Reilly coming back.

Make this a big story on the net. Right now it's just a blurb as part of a bigger story about the X-Men/Spider-Man series. Every Reilly fan needs to know about this. Tell your friends, put it in your tagline, etc.

Buy TWO copies (one for Peter, one for Ben) when it comes out. t: Let's make the third issue outsell the first one!

I haven't been this excited since PAD started that speculation about Reilly coming back in his Friendly arc (except it ended up just being Pete with a hologram disguise )

Man, they dont even havta bring Ben back into continuity, if they could at least just do like a 5 issue Ben Reilly mini-series or something, i would be satisfied. It could be sort of a "Untold Tales" sort of thing.

I think it's time that we got some new Ben stories, and there are places to put it now! Firstly I think it'd be cool if we got an Untold Tales of Ben Reilly, or Scarlet Spider: First Class. After seeing that Wolverine is getting ANOTHER first class book, I think it's time they gave it a shot with Ben. And if they couldn't afford to give him his own book, I think some stories with him would fit right in, in Spider-Man family. What do you guys think?

It would be cool if somebody made a Ben Reilly comic cover and got some websites to play along and solicit it as another issue in marvel's line up. Then there would be hype for it, and more of a demand. What years of Ben Reilly would you guys be most interested in reading about? Scarlet Spider or when he was actually Spider-Man?

SWEEEETTTT!!!! We all need to hype this up, buy extra and make sure they know. Screw regular continuity parker (whatever that means anymore) They could write an out of continuity reilly like spidergirl and I would be fine. This is the only way we'll get a real peter story also, reilly is now so much more like the original it's sick

Hey guys I got a new Avvy! It's basically just a recolored spidey from a thread were they were arguing costumes with black got changed to blue cause they use blue for highlights and they sited spidey as an example. So I loved the pic and was think the original before all the OMD crap and then when I heard Reilly was coming back I convinced myself thats him....freaky I know

That's good news that someone at Marvel's not ignorin' Cloneheads. Definitely spread the word about the series. Although, that part about the X-Men not knowin' his ID, I hope it don't extend to Wolverine. In other words, I hope this' 616 Spidey and not BND. Cage should do right by us either way, from what little I've seen of his work he's another characterization writer.
