I REALLY REALLY hope it turns out that Kaine killed the dude's family, not Ben.

I mean, yeah Ben was troubled when he was in Exile, but I'm thinking he probably couldn't live with himself if he killed some guy's wife and kid. Plus, a child killer as Spider-Man for a time would be a real travesty...

We'll see over the course of the arc whether Ben really is to blame, but maybe my response earlier regarding Ben's 'darkness' provides a hint.

And this is a reference to this:

Just because Ben and Peter share the same genetics doesn't mean they share a personality. Looking back at the character, Guggenheim found a number of disparities between Peter and his clone, beginning with Ben's "lack of baggage."

"I don't just mean the fact he wasn't married," the writer elaborates. "I'm also thinking of all the years of continuity he wasn't carrying around upon his 'return.' Plus, the idea of a super hero fallen from grace was really interesting. Inner torment is a big part of what makes Spider-Man-the comic, not the character-Spider-Man, and the idea that Ben was a 'cast-off' made for a lot of interesting drama. He's a much darker character than Peter was and I found that interesting."

Seems pretty clear to me that it'll be the darkest version of Peter Parker that's really to blame....Kaine.

Man blames Ben Reilly.
Man confuses Pete with Ben and attacks him.
Man was confused in the first place because "Ben" was actually "Kaine" the whole time.

Sensational Spider-Man #1 (vol. 1) I believe. I think the first part of 'Media Blizzard'. It's definitely Jurgens. I could be wrong about the issue, but I think it's that one.

Checked Sensational 1... not there. It looks more like Bagley's art but I went through all the Bagley issues and couldn't find it.

It looks like it came from these issues.

I'd check to make sure but I don't own these issues.

Damn. Maybe this is from one of those trading card series.

I'm sure I saw it in one of the issues... this is gonna bug me forever.

Ah! I bet it's from one of those quarterly Spider-Man Unlimited issues. It looks like it could be old Joe Bennet (sp?) artwork.

YES! It was Unlimited 11. You win the no prize! And have set my brain free.

Yeah, thats the Spider-Man Unlimited issue with Black Cat and this Skull-Jacket character we never saw again (thank god, cheap Chameleon rip-off) The story is not that great, but the art is cool. And I liked the dynamics between Ben and Black Cat.

What do you guys think the Scarlet Spider costume would look like in the movieverse?

Gotta love the 90's! What does Skull-Jacket even mean?? And even if it means SOMETHING... does that something have anything to do with camoflauge? Sounds totally 'Image' influenced. And why not just use the Chameleon, instead of a cheap copy? And okay, I accept the inherrent irony there, since one could make the case that Ben is a "cheap copy" too (even though he isn't), but still.... Skull Jacket?? Really, guys?

The only good characters to come out of the clone-saga were Ben, Kaine, Gaunt and the Daily Grind cast. All the rest, like Spidercide, Skull-Jacket, Polestar, cyber-Hobgoblin, Lady Ock, Stunner, the Pro, Helix, the new Jackal, Traveller, etc.... man, such crap. :oldrazz: Great entertainment, though.

I like it, I just don't see the need for the web pattern at all. Just leave it solid red, no webs. I'd love to see someone do an amazing Ben Spider Suit. I've seen one image using Spidey crouched on the train in front of Ock which is so-so... but something like quality of these two would rule.

Gotta disagree with you there. Personally, I loved Spidercide, Polestar, and Helix. Traveller was cool until we learned he wasn't as powerful as originally thought. Scrier was cool too until we learned he was one of an order and not unique. Jackal was okay, as was Stunner. I'll agree though that I didn't like the Pro, Lady Ock, or the cyber-Hobgoblin.

And on a side note... I just bought an old 90's comic called "Conspiracy". It was kind of a "Marvels"-like thing but with uglier art (Igor Kordy, painted... not as bad as his New X-Men work though). I read it when it first came out but I kinda forgot about it. It's about a reporter from the Daily Bugle who begins uncovering a secret truth about the origin of the world's heroes and how their transformations might be more government influenced than random. It was a good 2-issue mini.

Anyhow... I got excited when on page 2 we see the reporter at his desk when suddenly Spidercide and Jackal fall through the roof (via Maximum Clonage: Omega). It was just a nice shock :)

Nothing more comes from it as the story moves on following the reporter as he goes on his own story, but it was cool.
