What's sad is that Peter David was intentionally vague when mentioning Ben Reilly's presence, knowing the true clone fans would get all excited and buy the issue. I don't feel angry anymore, just sad. I fell for it. Good one PD.

So I decided to try my hand at creating a mugen character so I thought, why not Ben Reilly? He's got a LOT of work left and i'll work on him when I'm really bored but here's what i got so far.

Since Peter is going to be working for Flash with Ben's I.D., doesn't this cause a problem. I'm pretty sure Ben met Flash when Pete was hospitialized, not to mention Ben saved Flash from a pumpkin bomb in PPSM#75. I'm just wondering if Flash is gonna be like, "Where have I heard that name from? "

BTW, if anyone sees the Kaine Marvel vs. Capcom style character anywhere, could you send me a link? I'll see if I can contact the creator and then maybe use Kaine as a striker for the SS i'm making.

how are u making it and what do u use it on? is there a way maybe we could collectivly build a clone sage fighting game, story mode could contain kaine vs doc ock for instance
there is probably enough chracters?
ben as scarlet, ben as spidey, pete as spidey, spidercide, jackal, green goblin, stromm, female doc ock, spider carnage

just off the top of my head, and if its based off chracters wouldnt be too hard, spider carnage based on carnage etc....

Just my contribution to this wonder thread
Just think about it 66 pages, 1649 posts, and one year, a positive thread, about Ben Reilly and The Clone Saga in the Spider-Man boards no less. Who would've thunk it?

Seriously this is one hell of a thread, I never believed it would last, or that so many great guys would come here to talk about it themselves. Hell we made wikipedia for chrisakes!

Things are changing guys at Marvel guys, I can feel it. Clones are coming back in style, from USM to Davids conterversial nod, who knows? Perhaps on December 4th in a year or two, we could most likely be talking about the return of Reilly, or the massive success of Spider-girl

Either way, everyone here deserves some credit. Everyone here contributed to preserve the memory of a character that marvel refused to acknowledge. The same company that refused to support Spider-girl, and what happened? The character know has her own monthly title, a mini series, and god knows how much advertising spent on a monthly basis. We all had a hand in that, and if we continue forth, I have the utter most faith, we can give the same to title character of this thread.

i'm making it for m.u.g.e.n. (a fighting engine that allows you to download characters from virtually any fighting game and put them in one game including your own characters if you can make them)

From what I know, there's the Spidey and Venom from Marvel v. Capcom available and I know someone making a pretty sweet Green Goblin. There's also a quality Carnage out there. DocOck4MUGEN (who frequents these boards) is making a Doc Ock (duh). I think that about does it for Spidey related characters in Mugen (unless you count Iron Man ). PM me for more info.

I remember years ago not being able to find anything Ben Reilly related on the internet that wasn't either:

A) A quick synopsis of the Clone Saga
or
B) A few guys mentioning that they liked Ben Reilly on a message board only to be immediately flamed by the rest of the board.

Today, A and B is still true. But now we have Life of Reilly and even more importantly (imo), this thread. We're the best Ben Reilly link on Wiki! No offense to Greenbergs EXCELLENT LoR, but there are tons of voices here that are being heard. There's hope here. I think a lot of us needed that. The internet used to be a lonely place for a Ben Reilly fan. But now...people at the hype are worried that they'll get flamed by US instead! It's nice to know that efforts like this actually help keep the character in people's minds instead of forever remaining Marvel's dirty laundry.

I was only on this thread for a few months but i'm glad to have been a part of it and hopefully we'll all be here for some time to come talking about the latest issue of Scarlet Spider.

Give me a Ben Reilly title damnit!
