That's the toy that says "Scarlet Spider" AND has a picture of Spider-Girl (complete with busty chest) representing Ben on the package.

Oye. Looks like they put as much thought into it as Joe Q put into "One More Day." :whatever:

That was a good one:cwink:

from the lates cup o'joe:

Drew asks:

Hey Mr. Quesada,
Your fill-ins were pretty insightful. It was cool to here a little about the creative summit.
Was there anything decided at Marvel's recent creative summit about a certain deceased Spidey clone, say Ben Reilly? Will he have his own "Brand New Day" in the pages of Amazing Spider-Man any time in the near future? Please bring back the original Scarlet Spider, in current continuity!

JQ: Drew, there's good news and bad news and more good news on the Ben Reilly front. The good news is that he's appearing right now in Spider-Man and The X-Men 2, which takes place in the past.
The bad is that there are no plans, nor have any other decisions been made with respect to Ben.
The other good news is that as while we're currently working on building Peter's world back up again, the door certainly isn't closed on Ben if one of our writers has a great idea down the road.

So the simple answer is, "No Ben Reilly for right now."

:applaud !!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh my god, YES! :woot: The fact that the door is open if someone just proposes an awesome idea is FANTASTIC news for me!

Loving the Spidey xmen crossovers so far really cool stuff can't wait for Ben Reilly in number 3:up: They better reference that it's him and not pete maybe have his mask off?

one week guys!!! (pretty much) what we've been waiting 12 years for, lets make it a sell out!!! i was hoping there would be a preview of this by now ( i think there was for the other 2 issues?)

Does anyone know if Marvel plans on making trade paperbacks of the clone saga ala X-Men Age of Apocolaypse?

Sadly no, but I damn well hope they do. Only dont put them in Chronologically order, but rather the order the issues were released. Thats one complaint I had about the AoA trades, they put it in total chronological order which is nice but sadly it ruins certain plot points and aspects from the stories, especially to new readers.

Imagine opening The Clone Saga volume one and the first thing you read is the Osborn Journal or the Lost Years.

This seems like a good time to ask since this thread just got bumped...

How many days until the first Ben Reilly story in almost 13 years AKA X-Men/Spider-Man # 3 gets released? I am quite literally waiting with bated breath.

Pssst! Guys! If you don't wanna wait till next week, I suggest runnin' to yer comic shop and pickin' up X-Men Manifest Destiny #5. Someone screwed up and stuck its cover on XM/SM #3.

Looks like I can get the whole Clone Saga for about $270 free shipping. Anyone think that's a good deal or should I hopelessly wait for Marvel to make trade paperbacks?

hopefully they do make it into trades

Ninja, find out what conditions those issues are in then cross-reference with an online price guide. You'll get the fair market value then can judge from there.

And I didn't get to read it yet. I've got deadlines, y'know!

I think it's fair, the website is good. But when it's all said and done it may be close to $300, with buying more boards and plastics (ugh).

Freaking Marvel, make the trades! What, are they embarrased by it?

considering the **** they've produced over the last year and a half they have no excuse to be embarrassed bout the Clone Saga.

Marvel can't realistically make trades fer the Clone Saga, it just spans way too many titles. The way they did Onslaught and Age of Apocalypse, Clone Saga'd need at least 10 volumes.
