Helix the other OTHER kinda-clone who appeared in Maximum Clonage.

Also, you still haven't included Tendril who appeared in 'Spider-Man: Final Adventure (when Peter thought he was the clone and moved to Portland temporarily) and was created partly from Peter's irradiated blood (or some compound derived from it... I forget which). His real name was River Verys or something similar.

Looks like Kaine was just killed to bring back Kraven like ben_reilly_s_s guessed. Not confirmed, but it really looks like it. Also, Ezekiel was revealed to be the Chameleon and Mysterio working together. Probably no Ben.

Thanks for the spoiler warning! :whatever:

I hadn't picked up my copy yet and this isn't the 'Grim Hunt' thread, so I wasn't exactly expecting it. Edit your post with spoiler tags so you don't spoil anyone else.

Just read the issue. I agree with you. It's too bad.
But at least this storyline has been pretty great thus far.

Unless it happens in the first few panels of the next issue it'll be interesting to see whether or not [blackout]Kaine turns to dust.[/blackout] ;)

Recently read the issue. There are no words. It does look to be indeed as theorized, but if so I have to say...

Kaine went out with dignity. I feared this would happen later in the issue once he was revealed to have cut his hair and shaved. And if you go back to the previous issue, when he's all "damn it" in the mirror, I think he knew what was going to go down. But to go down in costume, and to buy Peter some time, definitely an honorable way to go, unlike his original death speared by Spidercide.

The only thing that gets me about this arc though is the lack of mention that Kaine killed The Grim Hunter. Why the need to invent a backstory of fighting Kraven when the connection already existed between Kaine and the Kravs.

Well...
at least Kaine didn't get mauled by the Grim Lion, which would have been a cruel ironic twist.

Okay, final comment and I'll shut up:

Geez folks, I'm a little upset about all this but the way it was handled was dignified and well-written and true to the character. So it's hard to be mad. Just a shame there's no chance of longevity for Kaine, who only recently returned to current continuity. But it's better than nothing, and I hold out for Ben's eventual return to ease the grief.

This story is WAY too predictable...
are they really even trying?

Also, what happened to the Spider/X-Men Kraven clone?

I disagree with you ben_rieilly_s_s
The only thing I found predictable is that it's Kaine in the Spidey costume.
How could you have predicted Ezekiel would show up? And how did you predict it was actually Chameleon?
What about Vlad coming back as a wolf?
And you can't say you predicted that the Kraven's were going to come out and hunt the spiders because Marvel has been telling us that for the past year... So what is it exactly is it that is WAY too predictable?

well, my posts about what i believed would happen are kinda split between here and in the Grim Hunt thread...
most of it is true...

Like...?

Sorry, but you're not getting off the hook that easy.

Besides the fact that Kraven was more or less coming back (which we all pretty much knew) 'Grim Hunt' has been full of twists and surprises so far. That Ezekiel-revealed-as-Chameleon moment was pure win.

it just occured to me, how come everyone doesn't complain that there's like 5 Spider-Women but we get can't get Ben back??? I know the whole you're the real PP story sucked but that was 15 years ago.

I don't think there's enough support for a Ben "on-going"... the Clone Saga mini failed miserably sales-wise, and I think Marvel was looking at those numbers to guage whether to bring Ben back or not...

:csad:

Who's asking for an on-going ? I just want him back alive. But why keep making action figures on Ben why even make a mini series why make a tradeback of the clone saga if there wasn't interest in Ben Reilly. I believe there's enough for Ben to have an on-going he just gotta get outta Peter's shadow..oh and be alive somewhere...

I think there would be an ongoing Ben Reilly series if the Clone Saga miniseries had done better in sales.

The way that miniseries went it really set up something for an ongoing Ben Reilly book, much like a Spider-Girl situation where it would be a different "universe".

I'm a huge Ben Reilly fan and would love to see that happen but, just like the fanbase with Spider-Girl, it's just too small of a cult following. If there is more of a following...then people need to really get proactive at Marvel and let them know there is enough of an interest out there to warrant an ongoing Ben Reilly book. If even another miniseries.

They should make a monthly Ben Reilly/May Parker double-feature book.

Has anyone read Amazing Spiderman 636 yet ?? Wow i wont spoil it for you but this makes me very excited to see how the Grim Hunt is gonna end!!

It leads to alot of questions..... It gives hope. However i'm surprised how quickly the Grim Hunt is ending it's been building for months and its 4 issues ???

To be fair, at least they're not dragging the story out longer than it needs to be.

After reading the Grim Hunt i have hope for a Return
If Kaine can die not turn to ash AND return
for Ben. And Joe Kelly definately knows how to tell a story Grim Hunt was a soild story.
