If they can have 2 Spider-Women , And MVP Clone in the iron spider suite, Kaine, oh and spider man on multiple teams...there's room. You have some many possibilities with this One More Day arc that scrambled Spidey's world.

Just look at Marvel for a moment you have two of the following

Wolverine (Draken & X23)
Captain America BUCKY! (Steve Rogers)
Iron Man (War Machine)
A THOUSAND HULKS!

just give me one Scarlet Spider please

Thunderstrike is coming back too and he's been dead for even longer than Reilly. (Not to mention Jason Todd, Barry Allen, Oliver Queen and Hal Jordan all coming back in recent years over at the Distinguished Competition)

I guess it's feasible to bring Reilly back and I don't think "clones" is a bad word anymore at Marvel. The continuity surrounding his existence and death (and subsequent return) may be so convoluted that they're scared of diving into it. There's also the question of WHAT he would do once he returned. Dead characters who come back make for cool initial storylines and then are left ruderless once the novelty wears off (look at the aforementioned Jason Todd). Then what will they do? Kill him again? Send him off on his own? Make him a permanent supporting-cast member? All of this needs to be planned out in advance, so his return doesn't go off the rails like the 90's clone saga did.

That's why I don't see it happening anytime soon. But I hope there's more untold stories by JM DeMatteis.

Here's my take on this. They make Amazing 3 times a month plus Web and many other SpiderMan books so there's room. Do a good arc with Ben coming back having conflict with Pete about one more day etc...) and let him go to LA you still got the big city like New York then dig deep into the man, what makes him different then Peter. It can work if done properly.

Hell, be a teacher at Avenger Academy
Or team him up with Deadpool.

SOMETHING!! ANYTHING!!!

LA would be the last place I'd put him. I don't know, but my eyes start to glaze over when I just hear the location.

Boston might be a cool idea, since there are Reilly's there.

And maybe a series done in Las Vegas or Dallas could put a fresh spin on things.

The Reason for LA is to keep him away from NY and all the other heroes and questions that will come. He Goes to LA makes his own way as a hero and not be compared to Peter/Spiderman.

And if he ever met those Reilly's....woo-boy... serious 'splainin to do there...

No way, dude. It's Pittsburgh all the way! :o

You know...MJ does have relatives here.

I think Chicago might be a better city for reilly to tackle. Plenty of crime for someone like him to sink his teeth into.

you know those marvel figurines they do? well guess who is getting (already had?) one

dunno when its out

I was gonna stick my Scarlet Spider (my version of Spider-Girl I mentioned here before) in Seattle, so that's a nice underused place he could roam. Seattle hasn't had a big featuring since Iron Man vol. 3.

Seattle would be cool. I get kind of sick of NY, LA, and Chicago. I would like to see some series in places like Seattle, Dallas, Boston, Miami, San Francisco, Las Vegas. And yeah, SIAT, I would Loooooove for them to have Ben relocate to the 'Burgh.

Honestly 50% of the reason I loved Ben was the brotherly dynamic that resulted between him and Peter. If he's in LA or Vegas, then that interaction will be very little and I could see my interest waning after a couple years. (Plus like iloveclones, LA makes my eyes glaze... and most of the buildings are low-lying compared to NYC). Boston would be cool, because it's close enough that they could team-up every 6 months or so and Ben could sometimes dip into the classic Spidey rogue gallery, even while he develops his own.

Plus Peter seems a bit more hustle-and-bustle NYC, while Ben seems to be a bit more laidback, alternative and intellectual like Boston.

I keep hearing mixed things about Ben Reilly's return. Someone here said that a guy from Marvel said somewhere that Ben wouldn't be appearing much of anywhere. Then I hear on the Marvel forums that next year sometime they are starting another Spider-Man ongoing anthology series and Ben Reilly will have a monthly story in there.

So, I guess it's all in waiting and seeing what happens.

Yeah but Ben Reilly has had a couple stories in the Web of Spider-Man comic, but that doesn't mean he's "back".

Well, it's better than nothing. Ben Reilly will probably never be back in the normal continuity of Spider-Man. I'll be happy with back ups and alternate universe stories, much like Spider-Girl.

It's a heck of a lot better than what we had years back when they IGNORED Ben Reilly and clones completely.

thanks mre

i heard he made an appearance in a comic recently on a message board, and i thought maybe it was true after finding out kaine's back.

i'm guessing they didn't say anything about pete and mj's kid either then?

There was a recent story "Who Was Ben Reilly" in ASM. But it was about something from Ben's past coming back to haunt Peter.
And, you are correct, Pete & MJ's kid has never and most likely will never be referenced again. She was brought up once during OMD but it was like a "Ha, this will never happen now" type of deal.

so there's no new stories to tell now ? with BND/OMD being told ? Or with Harry Osborn being back? why settle of alternate universe stories and back ups?? it doesn't change the past just makes it a lil interesting...

Well, in continuity they could do anything they want but it's obviously something they don't plan on doing anytime soon. My point is that at least they are going to do SOMETHING with the character rather than go about ignoring him as had been done for the past 10 to 15 years.

found the pic thanks to google

dunno if i approve i kinda liked hobo kaine

although he might make a good anti hero
