Official: Gotham City Sirens directed by David Ayer - Part 1

I'm of the opinion that most things in comics can work under the right circumstances.

Just a quick slopped together Photoshop I did, but I would go with something like this. Think it's a good compromise for those who want the classic Jester costume and something updated a bit. Give the bodysuit a more textured look, somewhat like Batman, Superman look from Wilkinson instead of a spandex or leather look, something subtle so it still looks skintight but not super formfitting so it's not too sexualized (not something I personally have problem with when it comes to a bodysuit since it covers everything but another complaint that pops up often) and I think this works. Let's face it, the thing about the full on classic Jester look that doesn't really work well in the live action is the headpiece, so remove that and give her the split red/black hair. Would need different shoes/boots, something more practical but this is a kind of rough draft of what I'd like to see them do. Keep it simple but also updated and less silly. Though I'm not one of the people that think they can't pull off the classic jester look, but since alot of people do, I think this is a good way to blend it all together.

I like your ideas for everything but the split black/red hair. They had it in the comics and it looked TERRIBLE. Harley is a blonde through and through.

Anyway. I hope the person that did the costumes on SS doesnt come back for GCS. Their approach to the classic looks of Harley and The Joker was idiotic. A purple suit is "too much" but batman panty hose isn't???? GTFO

That's a great point

Suicide Squad did win an Oscar for Best Makeup and Hairstyling though. So as long as they keep the face tats and same hairdo for Harley, GCS will be golden.

The #1 thing for me is to get rid of the tats and jewelry for Harley and Joker, give her the red/black theme and him the purple suit. They just went way overboard with both characters and it looked awful.

Snyder and Wilkinson had the right idea to keep the classic colors and themes, but update them to fit more modern times and play well off the other characters surrounding them.

I'm sure they won that more for Croc than Harley.
Croc looked good, but god, the acting was unbelievably bad. Very disappointing. Maybe he should've just been an all CGI character with a strong voice actor.

Agreed. I've got no idea why Ayer went for the red, white, and blue with Harley. She ain't patriotic!

Another thing, if Ayer's version of an "updated" jester suit is this, he can keep it.

I don't think the jumpsuit could possibly look crappier.

I mean...it's a prop. It's not gonna look any better than it has to.

The red and blue look look was the most recent comics look when SQUAD was in development.

They didn't put that much effort into the classic look in the movie.

But a modern update of the classic costume would be

Which is what they should go for.

Her Assault on Arkham costume could work, depending on how they'd adapt it.

Preach. I can't believe that in a post-Guardians of the Galaxy world, there are still people who use that lazy "that would just never work in a movie!" excuse. We get it, you're a boring and unimaginative individual... doesn't mean everyone else is.

True, but even GOTG changed the costume/aesthetics from the comics in places.

They won't cover Margot's face with a mask for more than a few minutes, if that, so most of the versions with a facemask and hat are out.

They covered Halle Berry and Michelle Phieffer faces for part of their movies so this would be no different.

Nailed it! SHH was crawling with those types when TDKT was happening

Been thinking about this today and just saw her on tv a minute ago, so I feel this works as Catwoman, in the scope of this flick anyway.

Alison Brie is hot as ****, but I can't really see her as Catwoman. Don't know why.

lol, it's not really a rocket science type role.

How tall is she in the books?

5'7" apparently
Brie definitely has the bod, but pulling a Scar-Jo seems rather eh
She would certainly be shorter than Margot
