no one wants to see hal and sinestro on earth for the whole f***ing movie

if that's their plan, I'd rather they just not do a sequel

The Oa scenes were some of the only scenes I wasn't bored by. I have zero interest in a sequel set even more on Earth.

Well even if the movie doesn't make back it's budget in theatres, it will still be profitable from toys/dvd/blu-ray sales. Don't something like 70% of movie-watchers always wait for the dvd?

The home video market is nothing like it used to be. Home video used to bring new life to a film to the point where even if it was disappointing in the box office, but nowadays, home video sales on on the decline in favor of Netflix, Redbox, and piracy. It just no longer can support underperforming films.

This guy is well articulated but his love of GL is getting a tad tedious right now. He's written like 4 articles about it in the last week.

To quote that green goggle wearing fanatic,

The critics were wrong. Audiences are missing out. And a sequel is gonna rock.

Did he miss the part where word of mouth was stale or a large portion of the GA who didn't like the film? I like how people like this conveniently leave that out and pull the "scape goat" routine with critics.

Bingo.

I've read and listen to this guy on many occasions and he has a love for superheroes and superhero films, and he loves GL. Unfortunately he's letting that love of the character compromise his writings.

What is he talking about here?

Christopher Nolan is being a bit b**chy to them and making sure that his Batman franchise won’t be that moneymaker, since he’s looking to end it with The Dark Knight Rises. There’s hope for The Man of Steel, but the Superman franchise has been tricky at best and as of right now nobody is completely confident in the script they have.

Are these two statements based on fact, or is he just speculating here? The latter wouldn't surprise me, because he used to write for CHUD and the guys on that site have always seemed to be biased against DC properties. Though to their credit, they did start speaking positively about GL in the months leading up to the movie (despite trashing for years).

But I'm not sure how Nolan deciding to end his run on Batman with a third film is an indication that he's being "b**chy" (if he didn't come back for a third, I might agree... but he did). And who supposedly isn't confident in the MOS script? I heard there were third act problems about a year ago, but supposedly that got smoothed out. Admittedly, I'm a bit worried about the movie, but I don't work for WB.

I think what he's saying in regards to Nolan is that WB probably wanted to continue his Batman universe but Nolan was insistent that this be the final in the series.

I wouldn't say it's speculation, just his dramatic writing style. You know, stir the pot and make it sound a bit worse than it seems.

I wouldn't be doubting Faraci if I were you.
The guy who touted that he had the true plot synopsis of TDKR? The one that described Bane and Talia as lovers taking on Catwoman and Bats? And JGL being a villain working with Bane, who was the co-leader of LOS with his squeeze Talia?

Even they are talking about a sequel now, that doesn't mean they'll follow through. Superman Returns was less of a flop and that didn't get a sequel. WB will probably talk about it for a bit, probably up until GL releases on DVD. They won't even admit it's a flop probably. They'll just leave Green Lantern 2 in development hell.

Check out the reviews and tell me which movie is getting more flak: Green Lantern or Transformers: Dark of the Moon.
