Boy could I think of some dark parodies of those Holiday Inn Express commercials; one at an abortion clinic and another during the Holocaust come to (my sick) mind.

I'm Roman Catholic. I don't endorse the abortion thing or killing. How come you didn't get invited to CineCon or did you?

I have heard the GL fans and others cracked SHH because the CinemaCon Trailer Deescription! AMAZING! Finnaly the movie show his powers!

Unfortunately that isn't true.

I think it is great that webmasters are digging this movie across the board. The problem being, that doesn't really mean the movie is going to be a hit with the general public.

Not to mention this section, even when big news hits its only 25 viewing tops. I hope more people show up here. :csad:

I am personally going to love the **** out of it, and I am just happy we are able to see Lantern on screen, but I'm not sure how this is going to work in regards to sequels and reception. :wow:

i dont want to force GL to others. but i am still suprised why more fanboys are not interested its. a guy in an alien suit fighting aliens..........with a ring hehehe ;)

For every one that gets overloads of advance online praise/press that does click with the masses (Avatar, Star Trek), you'll get a dozen or so that don't (Scott Pilgrim, Watchmen, Kick-Ass, Tron: Legacy, The Incredible Hulk, Drive Angry).

maybe the first trailer was not finished but you have to admit that for november they had a lot of CGI in the trailer. something that i think noone expected.

I remember some felt the same way about Iron Man. I think if the movie is good people will probably go see it. And the second trailer may be amazing, and really attract the masses.

This was not good. The only thing I could say about the article is that it's not very certain if the people polled actually saw any of the trailers/film clips that were presented. Another thing to note was that they were not allowed to vote on their own film (if they were associated to one), so, in a way there was an inherent bias since they might or might not have had to vote for the best film in their opinion.

Iron Man had complaints about a generic teaser trailer, and got a lot more support from a far superior second trailer. But people were still saying it was nothing special before it came out.

You can never predict these things.

Hmm, i have heard some people talking that, thats the reason to talk it.

For me, the new trailer with Thor will answer if the general audience will buy the film.

Well you can, it just people much smarter and in the know then us would be better equipped to do so.

Also why is Iron Man always used in comparisons? It didn't exactly do TDK numbers.

That is if the general audience goes to see Thor.

The most important thing is review scores and word of mouth. Those can turn an under-marketed or under-hyped film into a sleeper hit.

All the descriptions sound amazing...especially Sinestro addressing the entire Corps. The sooner we get to see more the better. I'm excited as anyone for Cap (which is looking great) but I was with this film since the very beginning and I think the new footage is going to be worth the long wait.

Don't agree. First, I don't think they want a sleeper hit. Sleeper hits don't destroy the box office enough to make spending somewhere in the range of 150 million on a film.

Second, reviews have become pretty irrelevant to summer blockbusters. See Transformers 2.

Because it is the the mountain top when it comes to comic films.

And the Spoilers provided by Reel turned out to be legit. Awesome.

Because it is the the mountain top when it comes to comic films. Duh.
By the same token, is Avatar not the mountain top when it comes to blockbusters?

The point is, people are comparing it to Iron Man because this is obviously meant to be the next Iron Man, in terms of tone and success. WB already has TDK. They want TDKR to be the next TDK.

See, was that hard? That is all you had to say.

The next question is why do they want GL to be anything like IM in terms of tone.

Hate to ask this, but what will WB do if GL is a moderate success like SR ?

Was it that hard that I needed to say it? You couldn't figure it out for yourself?

Because Iron Man was a well-liked and popular movie that proved comic book movies didn't have to be dark to be successful?
