And that's the first* hint at a sound we've heard out of him yet. Hopefully in the new trailer he'll actually get to speak, y'know...words. This has been my main concern with the GL marketing footage. It's all been heavy on FX and light(in Hammond's case, non-existent) on character introduction. Please WB, show us at least just a glimpse in the last trailer of Hal's unique personailty. Hammond getting the same would be good too. Because all I know so far is that Hal Jordan acts like Ryan Reynolds and Hector Hammond yells & laughs.

*Edit: My mistake, he does yell in some footage as well.

You have to look at it from a marketing perspective. It's unlikely that we'll get much of Hector. They'll mostly focus on Reynolds' face and the Oa stuff.

Ok, well then let's see a glimmer of what makes Hal Jordan interesting as his own character so we can get an idea of where he's coming from. What the trailers & TV spots have shown us so far is that

a: He's jokey

b: He's unsure of himself....maybe

c: He likes women

and that's about it. Which IMO is pretty thin(most of those are extremely common traits for just about ANY character). maybe the flaw is in the original character himself. I've heard that Hal was basically a proto-typical square jawed hero type when he was created and didn't have much personality. One would think they'd have tried to add personality in the decades since he was created but honestly I couldn't tell much from this footage other than the fact that they added a humorous disposition to him. Beyond that, he's still coming off flat and when that happens all we can really see is Ryan Reynolds playing a character rather than the character himself.

Superman has the whole boyscout thing as well as the difference between the bumbling Clark Kent and Superman personas. He's also ALREADY ESTABLISHED in the public's mind. Hal isn't and many people will be asking, "What makes him so unique that we should be invested in a new(to the public) character?". BTW, Thor & Cap this summer have to justify themselves just as much with the same question. Having already seen Thor, I can tell you if there's one thing above anything else they got right...it's making him a unique character(I'm talking personality here when I say character and powers/backdrops don't come into it).

The guy thinks that the entire movie is going to be CGI. Imo, he sounds like a really disappointed Green Lantern fan.

That was great. A trillion times better than the first trailer. The training scene with Sinestro and Kilowog was epic.

Strange that the Oath wasn't recited once thought. And Lively still sounds like she is reading her lines of a que card.
