You know what else was dumb? That Parralax was made out to be this civilisation destroying entity...

But Hal causes it visible harm just by exploding a fuel tanker on it.

Well, if that hurt it, surely a military bombardment would have destroyed it? It didn't seem like that much of a threat, is what i'm saying.

You know, its just conjecture that Parallax died.

Was there an after credits scene?
Something along the lines of this:

They should have just called Mike Rowe from Dirty Jobs.

Yeah, something being made of fire....shouldn't be hurt by fire.

I will be honest with you, when I saw that at the end of the credits, I actually thought that somebody like KalMart did that as a joke. Almost everybody enjoyed that scene, though.

This movie in 3D was pointless. I saw it in 2D on the WB lot and 3D at LA Film Fest. The movie looked darker and the 3D was not at all impressive. It was another ****** 3D conversion. Audiences have already wisened up to it.

the yellow suit did look like a photoshop that was on these boards when sinestro was first introduced, lol

the scene is on youtube btw

I thought the 3D was one of the better films I've seen in the format. The colors were really bright and the depth was nice. I'd put it right there behind Avatar and How To Train Your Dragon

I've heard the same. That it was one of the better 3D conversions.

Saw it yesterday... and I liked it. No, it wasn't up there with TDK or Thor, but I liked it. I wish it had a more serious tone throughout, but the ending was cool... just classic superhero vs giant monster. Mark Strong was awesome as Sinestro, I couldn't get enough of him.

And about the credits scene...

I really doubt Sinestro turned instantly evil, it seemed to me he was curious about the new power... after all, he didn't get to master it since Hal went after Parallax. I'd bet it'd be a gradual thing until he turned over to it completely.

Since when was Thor a masterpiece? I honestly don't understand the love it gets. It was mediocre at best. The beginning was amazing, the middle was crap and the end was decent.

Just my opinion of course but it really was to me. I was surprised that it looked so good. Generally not a fan of 3D anyway and it was a free viewing so it was very welcomed. Though it's not a necessity, if people have the extra cash I'd recommend seeing it in that format. I saw the 2D version earlier this morning and it seemed the colors popped out and were brighter in 3D.

To your spoiler I agree...

I was thinking it was more out of curiosity to see what it was like. He probably won't be wearing it in the potential sequel at all times. I imagine he will try to control the power throughout and midway through have a moment where he succumbs to it. Leading up to a final showdown with Hal and the Corps trying to stop him. Also hopefully he's not killed just imprisoned in on Oa.

A friend and I have discussed this as well. GL is about the same level of film as Thor but Lantern is able to pull a lot of things off in a more interesting, less boring manner. I liked both movies though, it's just that to me Green Lantern executed everything in a way that kept my attention the entire time. I never felt like it was dragging or that I was bored as was with certain points in Thor.

Thor and Green Lantern its weird that there both different but at the same time so similar. When I look at Thor and compare it to GL one of the things is the cast Natalie Portman to Blake Livley. Anthony Hopkins he alone is better than any one in GL and Chris to Ryan Reynolds. Ive always liked Ryan Reynolds movies but he was just being himself in Green Lantern. But Chris they actually got a guy who was the right fit for Thor.

I loved every bit of Thor, all the actors were great and everything just fit together for me. With GL, I certainly liked certain aspects alot, but as a whole the movie was just good. I think part of it is the "the hero is only as good as his villain" thing... Parallax looked cool, but he was just a big monster. Hammond was weird/creepy, but he was NOT cool. Everytime he was on screen I couldn't wait for the scene to end so I could see Sinestro again. With Sinestro as the eventual villain, THAT would give GL the punch it needs. To me anyway.

I can certainly understand this. They never marketed what the villain was exactly either which it was hard to tell. If they took Hector out and focused on the Corps battling Parallax as Hal was training more it would be better. Have Hal go back to Earth doubting himself, with Carol reassuring him like the movie gave us and then he shoots back into space to help the Corps take down Parallax. I would have preferred if
The entire Corps was battling Parallax at the end and defeated him together instead of just Hal
With Sinestro as the villain in a possible sequel I think we will get a much more compelling story with some great stuff going on.
