Wouldn't matter if it was Steve McQueen playing Hal, seeing as most of the criticism comes from the script.

I don't really rate one guy over the other. They've both been in crap, and they've both really truly impressed me before. Reynolds was terrifyingly good in Buried and Evans was so good in Sunshine that I completely forgave him for Fantastic Four.

Reynolds was still miscast as Hal Jordan. He played him as Ryan Reynolds and that was another problem.

Immature man-child instead of the righteous hero we wanted Hal to be.

Evans was good enough in Fantastic Four that I completely forgave him for Fantastic Four. There's only so much you can do as an actor to polish a turd

Still haven't forgiven him for Push though. :p

IMO, he was the only good thing about that movie.

Yea, Evans was the only great thing in the F4 movies. Chiklis was good too.

What more did people want from Evans in those movies though? He NAILED Jonny Storm. Undeniable. If the script let him down in the development department, that's not his fault.

Wha...? That wasn't Dr Doom. That was some other... thing. Although again, that was mainly due to the writing. They just got Doom totally wrong. Probably one of the worst interpretations of a comic book character, on par with that "barakapool" thing from the Wolverine movie.

I'm mostly going on memory here. I just remember liking nothing about the Fantastic Four movie and being genuinely impressed that Evans was an incredibly solid actor when I saw Sunshine.

When i was watching McMahon as Dr. Doom, I kept picturing him going to the plastic surgery office in Nip/Tuck and Christian and Dylan would be like
"So what don't you like about yourself?"
"I got this big metal scar on my face, you blind f**ks!"

I know it's not a popular opinion but I enjoyed it.

Sage coming in to stop the FF talk in 3...2...

I love how they don't explain hector, hal, and carol's relationship at all.

[hipster]I hated the Green Lantern movie before it was mainstream[/hipster]

(actually no I didnt, but I did hate the green toes)

I'm so over hating the movie. I think by the time I see it (7 weeks from now if I decide to wait for the Romanian release) I'll feel nothing but pity.

or boredom

because nothing happens in it

I'm actually really disappointed. But I kinda expected it.

I just can't help myself from feeling a sense of sadistic glee over the fact that somewhere, Geoff Johns is crying.

If I was 100% honest, I'd admit it that deep down in a dark dark dark place... I kinda wanted the movie to not be very good. I didn't want it to fail to this degree, but I didn't want a movie about Hal Jordan to be the biggest blockbuster of the summer because I HATE Hal Jordan. :p I wanted it to do good but not... EPICLY good.

When I found out about the delayed release date I was so pissed I weared myself out being pissed at that, and then I just kinda stopped caring about it.

The fact that it's so poorly received made me start caring again. That's kinda f**ked up. :)
