I went to Best Buy today to check out the 3DS screen. It's pretty nice. The 3D screen was great.

But, I don't know for some people, but my eyes can't register the 3D. If I see a 3D movie in theatres, I'm able to view the 3D, but if something jumps out of the screen, I won't be able to see. I was hoping that the 3D will fix that problem for me, but it didn't.

Images that I focus on the background makes the images on the front doubled, and vice versa.

Called the Wal-Mart I work at. Its not midnight here yet, and they're already selling the 3DS. But since I'm on a glorious leav of abscence, I am not going there to pick my up. Last place on Earth I wanna be...

It'll sell very well, but not be impossible to find. Even though the launch titles are severely, critically lacking. In the US ane UK, I mean.

From what I remember, the GBA had a really crappy selection at launch. It was just Super Mario Bros 2 (probably the worst main series Mario game) and Castlevania (Circle of the Moon I think).

3DS will probably be easy to find. No major upcoming holidays and the price for a handheld will turn some people off.

the place to get consoles even during a shortage are carphone warehose and supermarkets

people check places like that way less

when the psp came out an dwas sold out i bought a few from the carphone warehouse sold them on ebay for a bit of a profit (still undercutting mot on ebay) and the thing almost paid for itself

Just saw the commercial for SFIV. I may have to check that out.

Just picked mine up with SSFIV. The 3D looks GREAT. I'm enjoying the system a lot. :)

ye street fighter had some of the best 3d on show

i just already have it on xbox and iphone and barely play it on those as it is....

well when i get home from uni i am going to trade in every xbox game i no longer play, my psp and all psp games and combine that with my £50 vouchers and hope im not far off!

i'm surprised it's not sold out yet?
Most new systems are released during the holidays, the 3DS wasn't even close to a major holiday, plus, the lineup isn't the strongest I've ever seen.

I like the system, and I'm enjoying SSFIV a lot, but I can see why it isn't sold out.

the reason i'm asking is i bought two, hopeing to sell one of them, but can't figure when it's the best time to sell?

Just return it. There's no holiday rush to get it like a console, there's no big demand right now due to the lack of games and price, and it's not a limited print run. Whatever amount of money you're likely to make on it won't be worth the effort of selling it.

If they make a collector/limited edition version for Ocarina of Time, that'd be a better investment. But honestly, even that won't be worth it. You'll be paying $250 (maybe more) and tying that money up for several months, or even years, and MAYBE making $100 at most. Video games aren't a good investment unless it's a game that will have a limited run or a collector's edition, even those are rarely worth it. Other than the Gameboy Advance Micro, I can't think of a system that became really valuable since the N64/PS1 days.

I saw plenty at Toys R Us on Sunday. I'm waiting until this summer to get one. If I got it now I'd just be using it to play Pokemon White... and I have a regular DS for that.

No point in getting one with no Mario or Zelda yet.

Kid Icarus, Starfox, Mario Kart, I guess Zelda, and Resident Evil are the games I look the most foward to. Not even one of them were available on launch, nor have a release date. I can wait on the 3DS, since the only portable games I'm playing are on the regular DS and iPod.

Yup, one of our local Wal-Marts was stocked full of them. I was kind of shocked... GameStop didn't sell out either.

I have no need to buy one due to the weak line up & it looks like there will be plenty to go around when I do decide to buy one

Just got mine. It was more on a whim. There really isn't anything on this I want yet. So I just got it to get it out of the way.

A friend of mine got it Sunday and she said the internet browser isn't even up yet... that's not until May. Nintendo almost never disappoints me... but really, doesn't it seem like they released 3DS just to release it? No internet, no VC apparently, junk launch titles... they should've just waited until holiday.

Yeah, I will say that they just released it just cause. The hype really would have lasted until they were really ready, so they weren't pressured to release it so prematurely. The DS had very few good games, but at least they had that one title that kept people interested in it until real quality came alone; Super Mario 64 DS. There really is nothing on the 3DS that can keep my attention until the real games come out.

Other than the fact that I'm not a SF fan, I don't want SSF4 3D since the SSF4 games are still recent (too recent) and Capcom keeps rereleasing the game every 8 months.

Reports like this leaves me wondering what the heck Nintendo was thinking by release this thing so soon. I mean, advertising for it has been VERY poor... I've seen next to no commercials or even print ups for it in magazines.

The system has NO worthwhile game on it right now... none, Street Fighter 4 is getting the best reviews of them all but they say it's only good with the 3D OFF! It just seems like Nintendo pushed this thing out the door to get it out. When Wal-Mart, EB and Toys R Us in my area are STILL stocked with them you know they did something wrong.

Maybe demand will pick up... but the reviews I've read say its "cool" but can be a major pain and NOT worth 250... at least not yet. They should have waited for maybe mid to late summer, or wait until the Holiday and have Zelda: OoT as a pack in since this year marks the 25th Anniversary of Zelda.

I just don't get Nintendo here. Are they THAT afraid of Apple and the iPad? Surely not. Or, did they want to get the jump on NGP?

A mid-summer launch would've definitely been better. The internet browser and VC would've been up, and Zelda is out in June.
