Actually its already been said that the soundtrack will only contain about an hours worth of music from the film. The track length times have nothing to do with how long a sequence in the movie is, every soundtrack pretty much does this.

soundtrack music has never to do wit hthe lenght of an scene fro mthe movie. they are shortened to fit on the CD.

That's right the track is shortened plus remember the music repeats itself alot in different sceens of the movie if you all know what I mean,if the soundtrack was to cover all of the movie's music then it will be much longer than what it is.I guess that the plane sequence will be like 15 min.and the action itself(supes chasing the plane,trying to stop it,finaly landing it)will be like 5 or 6 min long which is perfect,to be more acurate I think the action in the sequence will be near the same lenth as the king kong v-rex fight was in KK.and that's a pretty good running time for an action sequence.

Can't wait to hear what Ottman has cooked up for Superman Returns. His score for X2 was my favorite of the trilogy, despite some very strong work from Michael Kamen and John Powell on the first and third movies. His best work tends to surface when he works with his long time friend Bryan Singer, so I'm hoping for a Superman score that confirms that theory.
