Maybe it's just me, but I prefered the ultra technical and detailed Spidey 2 features over the fun but saw them already on tv spidey 1 features.

I did, too.

It was fascinating seeing how they brought Doc Ock's tentacles to life, and how Alfred Molina learned how to wear and use them.

I thought the special features on the Spidey 2 DVD were great.

The only extra on the SM3 disc I absolutely do not care about is the making of the crane disaster, only because it's been covered on TV and the Internet a thousand times now.

Same here, but I still think that spidy 1 had better features, and I also think that Sm3's features will beat both of them by a mile!

Sony Pictures Home Entertainment and its promotional partners will spin one of the industry’s largest marketing webs for the Oct. 30 release of Spider-Man 3 on DVD and Blu-ray Disc, including an unusually high commitment to digital marketing and cross-promotion with high-def hardware.

“Spider-Man 3 is the top grossing film of 2007, and the campaign will reflect its importance,” said Lexine Wong, SPHE senior executive VP of worldwide marketing. “Besides having a higher profile because of its box-office clout, we have also expanded the media reach with the plethora of digital and nontraditional media opportunities that are available.”

The studio said it expects to generate 8.5 billion impressions through its own advertising and tie-ins with Papa John’s pizza (a $3 coupon on 10 million pizza boxes and TV, radio print and online ads); Pringles Potato Crisps ($5 mail-in rebate promoted on 3 million packages); Jolly Time Pop Corn ($10 rebate promoted on 3 million packages and in print ads); and Nutella (Spidey collectible in more than 1 million jars, supported by print ads).

A high number of impressions are likely to come from digital ads. The studio is spending 15% to 25% of its marketing budget on digital, said Jennifer Anderson, VP of marketing. (Internet ads are priced lower than traditional media advertising and can therefore deliver many more impressions per dollar spent.) Partner Papa John’s also will support the release with a mobile and digital campaign including text messaging.

Anderson said the studio will run three separate consumer sweepstakes, including one that consumers access by clicking on an online ad to be taken to a sweepstakes where they spin to win a prize from Sony or one of its promotional partners or licensees.

The Spider-Man 3 release also is being incorporated into Sony Electronics’ “HDNA” ad campaign for its high-definition products. The film is featured in national outdoor and newspaper advertising, both on TV screens and with specific promotion of the title on Blu-ray disc.

Wong said she believes it is the home entertainment industry’s most integrated hardware-software campaign to date.

The SM1 dvd menus were pretty but outside of Marvel doing its own thing with writers/artists talking of Spidey (which was done much better on the Daredevil DVD of all things) it was kind of dull. It was the E and HBO making ofs, which was essientially the same thing and that's it. A bunch of commericals and music videos. Boring.

SM2 had an ini-depth look at the mmaking of the movie while giving some context to the characters from the ocmics in seperate featurettes for casual fans and internet geeks.

I hope SM3 is as in depth as that DVD was.

The good thing is, I havn't seen any behind the scenes footage of anything related to sm3 so when I get it, all of it will be new to me.

 Same here. The only thing I ever saw though was the whole building collapsing with Gwen and all & it was done in blue screen..:ninja:

Heck, I didn't even watch that kind of stuff for Spider-Man 2, so the extras on that DVD were really interesting and new to me.

Yeah, I saw the HBO puff piece but I don't really remember it so...

If it does come with the Trading Cards, metion by amazon.com, of Spider-man, New Goblin, Sandman, and Venom please post them.

:-D

Dont think it'll have that stuff. In the Kmart flyer I was looking at last night, it comes with an issue of Amazing Spiderman #300 (Mcfarlane era black suit).

Wait. What?! I thought it did't come out for another month still?!?!?!
